I'm planning on ordering a vamo v3 and wanted to get some suggestions on batteries. I was looking at,

(2 Pieces) IMR 18350 800mah 3.7v High Drain Li-mn Rechargeable Battery with Flat Top
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D0OHDTO/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8

And

(2 Pieces) IMR 18350 800mah 3.7v High Drain Li-mn Rechargeable Battery with Button Top
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D0ODHKS/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_us?ie=UTF8

I've read they need to be unprotected but I can't find anything in the description about it, and I want to get them from Amazon because I have gift cards I want to use.

You guys and gals think these would work or should I get a different size? It will be my first mod so I'm not completely sure what all to look for yet.
Thanks

Do you want to use big Vamo V3 setup or Mini?

Mini use 1 IMR 18350, big Vamo go ahead and use a single 18650 even though you can stack em...better if you don't, flattop and nipple batteries work well..but flattop is what I use

If you hurry on Vapor Joes...they are offering 18650's for $7.47

They are high current..but should work BEAUTIFULLY in your Vamo

18350's but coupon code from above probably won't work

Not sure how new you are...head on over to the library and learn ya a little something something ;)

I think I'm gonna go with the big setup, if I go short I'm limited to 3.6 volts, right? Most of the time I use my passthough at 4.2 or 4.6 volts and 2.5 ohm coil on my protank, I've made coils from 1.8 to even 2.8 but I always tend to go back to 2.5 ohms. I'd like to keep it at that unless there's a reason to change. What do you think?

Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected?

"Un-protected" can be a confusing label when speaking of batteries, and the context needs to be specified. IMR (safe chemistry or high drain batteries) are often mis-named as "un-protected" because they don't need the protective circuits that are built-in the protected Li Ion batteries. The chemistry of IMR batteries are Lithium Manganese (Li Mn).

There are also Li Ion batteries without the protected circuits which are called unprotected, and these should NEVER be used in a mod, because without the protected circuit they are dangerous if used in a mod. They are used for other applications like flashlights or laptops.

IMR batteries are the preferred battery for mods, both mechanical and regulated.

Yeah..the Vamo V3 will go Low V around there...I Vape 2 days HARD on an 18650 and they do great...I end up swapping out before I drain em all the way because it's better for the batteries anyway

I'm rolling a 2.5Ω vivi nova mini right now at 6.5 watts and a great vape...all day long! Beautiful thing...VW set it and forget it..2.8Ω or 1.8Ω and anywhere between it (it won't fire below 1.0Ω I believe) auto adjusts and you will get the same hit every time!
