My current vaping device is a Vamo v3 I got back in 2013 from fasttech.

I had the clearomizers that came with it, then switched to "Authentic Innokin iClear 16 Top Coil Clearomizer (SKU: 1384000)" and now I recently bought a "KangerTech Protank-II Clearomizer w/ Pyrex Glass Tank (2.5mL)(SKU: 1429700), all also from Fasttech.

I only mention where I got them because I have seen forums on why these guys might be problematic.

Anyways, my issue is with these clearomizers threading onto my Vamo. Im not sure about the terminology, but the part that the tanks screw onto (I call it the stem), has threading on the outside , which I think the iClear ones use, and also threading on the smaller inside hole, which the KangerTech uses. Both threading connections suck and now they are virtually useless, which means my vaping is currently not happening.

Anyone else run into issues like this? Is there an adapter or something I can use to allow better and more durable connecting of the tank to the device? Should I use pipe tape?

Hello, I had a similar problem with my VAMO V5 and I ended up replacing the top cap:

Sorry but I'm not allowed to post links

Or you can purchase an adapter but it will look kind of funky, but it will work

Good luck

You could probably replace the top cap. I don't think an adapter will work at this point because it will use the same threads you're trying to use, but I could be wrong.

The big outside threads are called "Ego threads," for the outdated Ego clearomizers...the little inside threads are "510" or "5/10" threads...that's what your tank uses. You would need an Ego to 510 adapter:

This one should work if you can get it on the outside, ignore the name...http://www.myvaporstore.com/eGo-to-eGo-Adapter-p/ego-ego.htm

Vape technology improves every couple months and by now the VAMO is a dinosaur. For ~$35 you can buy something half the size that will blow the VAMO out of the water. The iStick mini (30W) is probably the most popular little box mod out there at the moment. Might be a better use of your money.

Thanks for the reply. My wife was saying she might want something if it was smaller, so the iStick might just do the trick. What about replacement parts for the iStick, like atomizer and batteries? is it simple and cost effective to replace those things?

For now, a little pipe treading tape got me back in business. Putting it on was a bit tricky, as the air intake hole is dow there too, but its amazing how much extra time I have when Im not vaping . :)

I had a Vamo V3. I put a 18650 in it and in 10 seconds the bottom cap of the mod was extremely hot; I removed the battery and the spring from Vamo's bottom cap was blue in color; short out? I don't know. From then I never used again Vamo brand. The 510/eGO connector must be made from very good steel, something that's lacking in many cheap and average electronic mods from China.

I've been using the Vamo V3 for 1 and a half years and had no issue with what you are describing. I replaced the 18350s with 18650s and still running strong. other than the problems I have stated earlier. You might want to check back with the place you bought it from.
