wow sewage chill bro...dang!

I have seen no less than 4 different threads on the NEW lot of Vamo V3's of which I ordered 2 (one for me and my wife)

I am sweating it because I am still waiting on mine to come in...

It seems like a new batch or bad batch or something...I sure hope I don't get one of the dreaded crap thread Vamo's this go around

And Sewage...when a guy has a very high post count its usually safe to bed the guy is a regular and you shouldn't step on your own pecker and start jumping on him for saying something you didn't like

Sorry bro, and he stepped on my toes first, calling me dumb basically. But how childish is arguing right? It's finished already. Thanks anyway.

Well now that that's been resolved8-o...I got my Vamo V3 yesterday and it seems to be perfect. The threads are good and everything lines up correctly. I guess now I can "worry" about the display going out as Jemkos mentioned. However, as I stated in an earlier post, everything I have is disposable except my ProVari.:D

I'm pretty sure mine is the exception, not the rule, so don't "worry" about it too much. You should be happy with the V3, it's a great mod overall.

This has the v3 body. I think the v4 has the v2 body with the v3 innards.

Hmm. And the top ring won't come off at all? Have you tried wrapping some rubber bands around it (or a jar opening rubber thingy) to see if it's just jammed?

My only complaint about my Vamo V3 is that the threading on all parts was rather rough. A wipedown with a paper towel dabbed in petroleum jelly cleaned them up nicely.

i have a V3 as well, and my top ring will not come off either. although i haven't tried to force it...

it takes all the delivery devices i own without needing to remove it, so it's no big deal.

other than that, a great PV...

My V3 arrived exactly one month ago today. Mine is the black chrome version and the top ring comes off quite easily. Doing so is helpful for cleaning, but really not much else.

One of the reasons I ordered the backup stainless version is because I want to mix and match the tubes for different looks. And, just to have a backup.

Top ring will not come off of my Black V5 ZMAX. I got mine from electronicstix.com I called their store and they said the silver version came off just fine. they pulled the black display model out and ...doesn't come off. I wrote them and asked about this and they basically blew me off saying that's just how the black one is "designed". Still waiting on a response from them. I asked them to reconsider their position on this since its likely the paint that has locked the top ring on.

I'm not going to try and use a large amount of force to get it off. It's not worth damaging it and not really a big issue at all. I just found it to be a bit odd.

I have a problem with the Vivi Nova. I love the Vamo, but there is definitely a problem with the threading. Mine is a Vamo 2 and I have had it 2 months. I heard the Vamo3 had threading problems, that is why I got the V2. No problems with my Texas Tuff tank. I do not tighten it hard, very gingerly. I have to use the Vivi on an ego.

Sorry I can't send a decent photo, my camera sucks. There is a dark line around the inside of the well where the top ring and body meet. Must be glue or a weld of some sort. That's why it won't come off. THe threads are definitely better in this one as well as the center pin. The v3=new body+ new innards, v4=v2 body+new innards+improved center pin. I must have one of the first v5's that went out. V5= v2 or v3 body+v3 innards+improved center pin and threads, but top ring is not removable. The way they are changing this device so quickly, I figure the v10 that comes out next week will be perfect.
That sounds like the V4, which is just a V2 with a better designed center pin system and the V3's electronics.

Post a pic, if you can.

Just got my new Vamo SS from Fasttech

The 510 threading is def weak and I could tell it needs TLC. Unless I screw them down really tight (which I've read is a bad idea), they don't fit very tight.

The ego threading seems perfect, however.

Don't forget, the vamo is a cheap Chinese product. Sure, they sell the mod for $60 USD, but in China, they make money selling the same mod, plus two 16500's, plus a charger AND shipping for less - so obviously it's CHEAP. I'm not knocking it because I love the fact that I can get all that for such a cheap price, but it ain't perfect.
