So, I ordered a Vamo V5, AW IMR 18650 batteries and an Aspire ET-S BDC 1.8Ω (2x3.6Ω coils) clearomizer and I was just wondering if the single 18650 will be enough to run a DC setup fine or do I need to stack 18350's for the best experience? (No need to tell me about the dangers of stacking and so on, I've read all about it)

Thanks in advance.

since it is a Vamo5 it is going to regulate the voltage to the coil by either what you set the voltage for or "automatically" in Watt mode. Whats important is the amperage the batteries hold. That will determine the longevity before recharging is needed. I prefer to run 18650/3400mAh in my SVD, basically lasts me about 6 am to 6am the next day ( 24hrs) and that covers about 4 ml juice @ 1.8-2.0 ohms ( normally at 10 -11W. I have 18650/2000mAh batteries and they only last about 10 hrs in the same setup.

yes the 18650 will work fine for the set up you have - you only need to stack the 18350's if you want to vape in the 12.5-15 watt range on the vamo (it will display the 12.5-15 watts but it will only reach 12 watts max with the single 3.7 volt battery - it will make a definite rattle snake sound with the batteries stacked - at least mine does - I have stacked the batteries twice in the last 6 months - no need to if you don't vape at high wattages)

Yeah Vamo with 18650 will work well for that addy as others mentioned it will do ~12-13W.

If it was say a DC RDA dripper I'd suggest playing around with stacked 18350s in voltage mode. If you get your resistance ~1.2-1.3 you can get high 25+ watts @ 6v as it does have a 5 amp limit. Basically stacked unlocks 13-30W. Course the 1600Mah stacked batteries will drain quick.

Most standard clearos/carts/protanks , single/dual would perform very poor with this much power thus 18650 is sufficient for most applications...least my experience.

I will probably not be using any RDA/RBA setups on my Vamo, only regular stuff from Kanger, Innokin and so on for basic stuff.. I'm planning on getting a mechanical with RSST/AGA-T2/something in the future for higher watts and lower ohms tho. Both the VTR and MVP look attractive too, so it's gonna be a battle between them and a mech :)

Alright, thanks for the info. I will call off my 18350 order then.

I would get them if you can afford it. Never hurts to have them around. I found they are great if I wanted to take my V5 out and about. I just got a VTR though, so the Vamo is only home use now.

Just my:2c:

Im getting my VTR tomorrow, and I am PUMPED! I have an SVD and its the sweetest thing since sliced bread. I just use Davide/EVOD BCCs in mine! But the VTR is the Rolls Royce of APV's IMO! I have a lil extra money, and was wondering if the Vamo5 is worth the loot? Seems nice enough and I like the Black Chrome! Im an APV MOD guy! Not too into mech mods, that is until I get a kick2 for a Bagua or something similar!

I meant if the 18650 provides enough power for the DC in terms of vapor, how warm it is and flavor and so on.

If you play with the type pf coils, the gauge of wire and a bit of tuning you can get satisfactory results from a dual coil on a regulated mod - however it is worth noting that even at the maximum of 15 watts the power is split in half for each coil so at the maximum the most you will get is 7.5 watts per coil. you can make it vape well just dont expect it to be a rolling out massive storm clouds.

the results are a little different/better if using prebuilt stuff as they usually run some thin wire.

I like my Vamo, but mine is SS. I was warned the other finishes wear off pretty easy. You know that VTR is almost a full pound right? It's not for everyone. Supper super heavy. I Davides, Protank 2, and Evods on both mods. The Iclear 30s the VTR came with is a top duel coil tank. I havent used it yet, waiting for Discount Vapor to get some heads for it back in stock.

The vendor I bought from was supposed to get the SS version too but by an accident they got a bunch of chrome versions which was kind of a turn-off for me as I have also heard it wears off easily, bought it anyway. The only alternative was SID by SmokTech and I dont like the single button system/menu at all.

I'm waiting on a SID to arrive now. I couldn't pass up the deal I got on it. Figure if I don't like it much, at least it will be a decent backup.

Yes, its heavy as a kitchen sink, but vapes GREAT and fits in my old phone holster! Its by far the nicest APV IMO! I use it way more than my SVD, and it fits in my hands perfect :)

I don't know about an Aspire but with my own 1.5Ω DC (2x3-ish in every configuration I can make) single 18650 couldn't do it.
Going by taste and vapor the Vamo topped out at around 4v. I didn't find joy until I hit 5v.

I'm not going to run to a calculator but I think you need V and not W if you want 5v like me. You'll hit the wattage limits before you get there.
