Vamo V5 owners (and V5 owners that also own an earlier version):
Has the famous center pin issue been fixed or improved? I'm eyeing a V5, and am trying to get the skinny.
I have heard / read both yes and no. Can someone confirm which it is? Much appreciated........

(Damn, if only they would fix this or at least make a removable / replaceable / adjustable center pin part!!)

I'm not sure because I've never had the problem, I use eGo beauty rings to prevent tightening down too tight (plus it gives a larger base for more support for the fragile 510 threads).
But I heard it was fixed with V3.

Thanks Myk. Good idea with the beauty rings. But I'm not even sure if it was fixed with V3. (The 'sinking' center contact pin inside the 510 connection, with the o-ring fix and all that). I can't say for sure. Hoping someone that might own both a V5 and and an older version can.

Got a V4 a few weeks ago and the centre pin is as crappy as ever. Used an airflow controller on it and it instantly gave an error. The grommit popped out and the terminal was touching the sides. What a piece of crap !. All this the day i got it !. Took hours to fix. Eventually i used a grommit i'd got from ebay, just some i had sitting around i'd been using for a T3, Cut it down to size by slicing of the skirt and slipped it over the neck of the terminal. Wrapped the terminal with tape to insulate, huh, there being no insulation, surprise, and slid it back in. The grommit works great, it's real tight, nothing like the original, and seals the terminal water tight. Haven't had any problems so far and it's been about 6 weeks or so. They could at least insulate the terminal during manufacture, that's kind of a given isn't it ?. I really am surprised more people don't have this problem. Seeing as the grommit is the only thing stopping the terminal from touching the sides and is just a rubber ring. It's too big for purpose and just sits loosely under the terminal. The one i have in there now is far too small and hugs that terminal so tight it's impossible for it to slip out. I was going to buy the other model Vamo with the adjustable sleeve but i don't want to have to rebuild the damn thing. I won't be buying another. But i do expect the one i have to last now i've fixed it. It's still going strong.

V1 here, no center pin trouble ever. Luck of the draw? User error? The only reason I haven't ordered a SS V5 is because of the Fasttech/HKP shipping fiasco!

just make orders that dont have loose li-ion batteries. ive been getting all my stuff same time 7-10 days from ordering just like pre-september.

^^^Now you've gone and shot down my last good excuse for not buying something I want but don't need...LOL!^^^

and i'll confirm it. got my order 4 days after it was filled. (just under 2 weeks total) they separated the batteries and tried to send them on the slow boat via hong kong post and they were sent back. had to order panasonics stateside to start vaping.
