Hi guys

Just got myself a vamo v5 and i was wondering if it is normal that i get this screen when i fire it.

When i checked PBusardo's review of the vamo he got an other screen than what i'm getting.

This is the screen

Is this normal? I also don't have the ability to change between rms/mean.

I've read that some vamo's have this option and others don't. Do i need to be concerned?

Thanks

From what i've read, it appears that there are a lot of different versions out there..

I find it strange that there are a lot of people having different displays/firmware versions etc..

Also some claim to have the rms/mean mode while others don't..

I personally don't think it's a big issue because everything else works fine. I was just wondering if it was normal..

Three options in the menu when holding to two small buttons in while it is powered on. Select next option with right button, select displayed option with left button.

1. Control Power (Watts) or Voltage

2. Display (when firing)
Voltage (if chosen in #1)
Power (Watts if chosen in #1)
Current (Amps)
Resistance (Ohms)

3. LCD On/Off (When firing)

Outside of the menu you can check resistance by holding the right button down, check voltage by holding the left button down. Change the voltage/wattage (depending on your menu choice) by tapping the right (increase) or left (decrease)

As above, several different makers, and the screens do vary in the info displayed.

Mine, a KSD V5, doesn't have the little battery graphic, but does allow changing from RMS to Mean. On it, hold the left button down for at least 10 seconds, and it will display the current setting. It's a "toggle, so if it WAS Mean,it will then show RMS and that's the mode you're in when you release it. A friend has a V3 that has no ability to change modes, and the info on it says that it's RMS all the time, which is what you want, anyway :)
