Vamo V5 PCB modifications

My Vamo V5 has been my recent "go to" when I am at home. I really like the throat hit with my Protank II, pf (personal formulation) of cinnamon juice with 2.0 ohm coil.

My Vamo5 has suffered a lot of hits. The left button has gone out, short circuits, open circuits, and LCD display were glitchy. I have had to open it up to perform surgery on it more than once. So far I have had to re-solder and clean the PCB in an ultrasonic cleaner from juice leaking under the pin. All of that helped. Then a couple of months later, and some drops/rolls, the LCD started to do the glitch thing and the constant firing started to happen. I installed the replacement head with the screw center pin. I didn't have to clean the PCB since no traces of juice, etc. But I did try to find the source of the problems. Got so ...... and then ripped the LCD screen off. Which leads me to my question.

I am wanting to keep my Vamo5 but start to have fun with improving the CB so that it will last longer. I have searched for several days about replacing the LCD screen, maybe upgrading the quality, etc. I actually don't want to just get a whole new circuit board, because I would like to start remodeling my current one.

Is there a support group that deeply discusses the modification/upgrades of these cheap mods? I would love to be apart of that. Current info is just so scattered and repetitive, but not exactly what I am needing. This is the forum that I keep referring to when searching.

Anyone have suggestions to steer me in the right direction? I'm definitely a novice when it comes to PCB's, but would love to learn more about the internal circuits and hardware of vaporizers.

Yes, and I just ended up ordering a new one from them, so that I could experiment on this old one and try to modify the individual parts. So, that is the easiest fix. However, I have so many broken batteries, CB's and electronics sitting around. I am now starting to want to figure out a way to reuse the parts that I have lying around.

Thank you though. That is very sweet of you. :toast:

I guess, my recent searches have included, APV circuit modifications, Vape PCB, DIY vaporizer PCB, etc. But I am trying to narrow it down to the Vamo pcb's. Hell, I am just starting to understand this stuff.

I wish there was something like VAMO hacks and have it all in one place. I hate having to go into twenty different sites just to find that they all try to tell me to fix my VAMO with the center pin and if that doesn't work, just chuck it.

It's a cool looking thing and I love technology. Currently it is just a tube/phallic looking thing sitting around. Without the battery, I can't even use it as a self defense device!
