I am seriously looking at buying a Vamo V5 vv/vw mod. My question is, I've been using relatively "simple" setups and I want to know if the Vamo is complicated to use? It seems a lot different. Any insight would be appreciated!

Its easy to use, better than one button VV mods, but I dunno if its my favorite. It's pretty good tho, one problem I have had with my V5 is that it doesnt take some flat top batteries, it wont make contact, but it works good with button type batteries. The Vamo has a history of the connecting pin moving a bit on the inside. But it is a solid unit, easy to use. You can also use wide style non ego type connections on it which you cannot do on the lavatube. Its easy to clean too. For bang for the buck, it aint bad.
I enjoy my Vamo, I still use it daily. The button to move voltage/wattage up and down are amazing main thing I wish my provari had.

The vamo v5 is really easy to use. I've had one since mid December, and even though it's not my solo work horse it still gets plenty of use. To really familiarize yourself with it before you buy, you might check out PBusardo vamo v5 review on you tube. It's really in depth. Plus the ease of being able to just pop in a fully charged battery when you need to makes a regulated mod oh so much more functional than the twist style batteries.
I loved my Vamos, but I think I liked my V2 better. I'm not sure if it's common with Vamos or not, but the top cap on my V5 is loose and always comes off. Nowadays, it mostly just serves as an ohm checker since I've moved on to rebuildables.
I have a V5 and absolutely love it! I have other mech mods I use for drippers and a Duke I use for getting down and dirty but my Vamo is the first thing I grab in the morning, most often the one I put in my pocket, just love it. I have had no problems what so ever with any batteries and run both flat and button tops, usually run it in 18350 mode as it just seems like the perfect size (about the same as a mech mod in 18650).
For the money I think it's tops. It isn't a Provari for sure, but you could by four or five of them for what a Provari costs and at the time I wasn't willing to plunk down that kind of coin as I had only been vaping for about three or four weeks.

I have a Vamo V3 and have no complaints, use it on a pretty regular basis. I have had the V5 in my hands and messed with it a little and I think I like the V3 better, but just cause of the display. The V5 has a lot of info on one screen and can make it a little difficult to read what info you are wanting to see. The V3 only displays one thing at a time and you can set what that is. Other than that it seemed fine.
I like the simplicity of the buttons. I change batteries every morning when I wake up, and a 18650 lasts all day, 95% of the time.
I was using it with an adapter, to protect the 510 threads, which have a bad reputation. However, since I have the adapter, I might as well let it be, and use it if that becomes a problem.
I do have a j-wrap on it, because it looks better with that.
The price at fastech is very attractive, if you want to wait that long.

I went from basic eGo batteries to a Vamo V2 almost a year ago. There was nothing hard to figure out with it. Set it for VW mode and bump the power until you like the vape!
Vamo V5 and my Rocket is the best mod I ever bought. I just hope it holds up. I will order a couple more to hold in reserve. If it lasts then I am good with vaping forever.
Love my v2! got it in the mail and figured it out in 2 minutes without instructions. also their are downloadable instruction manuals if that interests you.
The only thing I dislike about my Vamo V5 is sometimes I hit the voltage adj buttons accidentally and all of a sudden I find myself vaping at 15 watts. I wish they would lock. Otherwise I like it fine. I like my SVD a bit better for the same reasons. Those can be locked.

Thanks everyone for all the responses!!! I've decided to go with an ego-c twist with vivi nova tank. I just liked the reviews on that one better... Think it's going to be awesome! It was SO hard not to choose 1-2 day shipping lol

while, it's a little bit of a learning curve, it really isn't that complicated...I don't use a vamo but I use a mod that is very similar
and as rat said, if you can wait...you can get a whole set up from fasttech for under $75

if you can wait a month and don't mind buying from china, fasttech.com is the walmart of vaping...they sell some authentic but mostly knockoffs for dirt cheap and free shipping....but it does take a month for shipping (sometimes less, but average a month)
