Im considering this and was curious if anyone uses it with just the 18350. I am concerned about the size but the short stack looks ok. That however leads me to wonder.....how long does that last? Anyone who has experience with it I would love your experienced opinion.

What mAh is your 18350?
My buddy uses his Vamo in shorty mode sometimes, but his 18350 doesn't last very long... Maybe 6 to 8 hours. I prefer my 18650's. A shorty Vamo is just as awkward in the pocket as the full-sized Vamo.

I use mine in 18350 mode when I'm headed out-and-about. Mine lasts in the 6-8hr range as well. It is a little more portable and a little less conspicuous in 18350 mode as well. I find it handy to have the flexibility of both 18650 and 18350 modes.
My Vamo is in short mode all the time. I get an entire day from a battery and i rotate 2 of them. Its notable that i only vape about 1-1.5ml a day tops and use a 2.2ohm Vaponly BCC at 3.7v. Obviously i am a rather light vaper, which should be taken into account on how long it will last for you. Another thing ill note is that with an eroll or kr808 i tend to vape about 3ml a day, so im not really sure why i use so much less with this setup, or maybe its just that efficient...
This is why I love my Vamo. Reliable VV/VW/Battery Check/Ohm Check and it comes already ready for shorty mode, no need for an extension cap.
So Rocektpunk you would recommend the Vamo then? I was also looking at the sigelei Zmax just for the shorter stature.
Edit: Also, does your 18650 shake a lot in your Vamo?
An 18350 700 mAh lasts me about 4-5 hours at 9 watts with a 3 ohm carto in a tank. I find in short mode the button is in a slightly awkward position for me but no big deal.
Also, in 18650 mode the battery rattles with a small shake but so do the buttons so it sort of balances out !

I used my 18350 95% of the time. I love the size, and it is nothing to carry an extra 18350 with you if you wont be home for 10+ hours. THe ONLY time I used 18650 mode is if I forget to charge 1 of my 3 18350s and I am at home with my fully charge 18650.
I make sure the 18650 is always fully charged because it lasts long enough that all of my 18350s to fully charge.
Once one is fully charged, I pop it out exchange it with the 18650 so that it is fully charged for backup.

I have the sigelei zmax and love it. They have a new telescoping one if you want the shorter mod but the normal one uses either 1 18650 or 2 18350's so it can't be shortened to a single 18350 size. You need the telescoping one for that.
Oh and if one thinks the button is in a weird position in 18350 mode just use your ring or middle finger to fire it. You'll get used to it quickly, for the price and performance of the Vamo, you wont find a better mod IMO
I use it Vamo all the time in short mode. the pulse with modulation makes for good battery life on this device definitely a must have. at least 1

I don't like how the V3 looks either, very glad I got the V2. Mine is in shorty mode most often, with flat tops (not that I think it would matter, just don't know). Nothing wiggles, jiggles or makes any noise. The battery lasts about as long as a 1000mAh eGo, so about 5-7 hours depending on usage, volts, watts, blah blah. Haven't really timed an 18650.
I run mine with 350's and have yet to get 650's because I don't need them. I run all weekend off a stacked set of 350's and heavy vaping @ around 7 watts or 4 volts depending on what I'm messing with.
