I too was considering one of the mods mentioned by OP,
but have found that for the same price point the MVP is better.

No "rattlesnake effect" in the voltage that the others have.
Plus, the pass through capability.

exactly. the unit was cheap enough to not be too bummed. maybe i would have gotten a drip tip or 3 but i sent an email seeing if it could be applied after. if not, i shall survive.

I'm a former Vamo V2 owner, now a Sigelei Zmax V3 owner, and I can say that the difference in quality dramatically favors the Zmax. The Vamo always felt cheap, and I was happy when it finally died last week. It feels so much more solid that I don't even mind the one button menu interface. My vote goes for the Zmax.

Do you have a recomendation for a battery for the V5? I'm ordering those seperatly to avoid any customs problems. I was gonna get an Efest IMR 18650. (I don't have any yet, this is my first APV)

the "rattlesnake effect" is the voltage jumping up and down trying to level out the overall wattage needed.
