Is this a common problem with PT2 and Vamos? I have myself a Vamo V2 on order and was going to put my new PT2 on there as my new standard PV.

As I understand it, its common on vamos for the positive pin to be generally weak and it can get pushed in if you have a habit of screwing your 510 in there really tight. I prefer to be cautious and only screw my protank in far enough so that it gets good contact with the pin and no further, which for my vamo at least, leaves the protank a little wobly. The ego ring prevents it wobbling, and I'd use it even if I didn't have this problem because I find that putting the ring on flush with the base of the protank tightens the draw up a little bit.

I do the same with my vamo v2 except that the ring that comes with the protank won't let me screw it down enough to make contact. I have to use a ring with no flare on it like this one. eGo Chrome Cone for the 3.5 mL Dual Coil Tank

It makes my 510 stuff feel much more stable on top of my vamo. Which in my mind helps protect the threads as all that wobble has to help wear out the threads quicker.

Is this a problem for the v3 vamo as well?
I use one, and was afraid of all the posts i heard about overtightening, etc, but I haven't had a problem yet, knock on wood. I am using the Puritank, which I went with over the protank for the replaceable tip.
Pure speculation, but maybe worth considering - would a washer work as a spacer? Just thnking about people on a budget (ahem, graduate student here) or perhaps people who don't want to wait for a fix to come in the mail (ahem, wicked impatient here as well haha). but maybe the right sized rubber o-ring or metal washer could help? Could be worth a trip to the hardware store to investigate..

The real problem as I see it (don't have a vamo or PT so take my words rather lightly) is that the 510 threading is designed for e-cigs that look like cigs. Their small diameter never intended to hold these larger, weightier pieces together.

That is true, but some of them do hold them well. I love my Vamos, and I baby the threads. So far no issues, and everything sits flush, with no wobbling. I wish the 510 connector was made of harder metal.
