You would have to shave out 1mm from the entire wall of the battery compartment. Not just the back slot or the door, the compartment is physically too tight to squeeze a 21700 in (the black side walls are too close together, not the front or back where the panels are but the molded section above the bottle and the side that has battery orientation markings).

Correct. There's a You Tube video on modifying the Pulse 80 to take 21700s. It requires much more than merely modifying the battery door. Not worth it IMO. If the 21700 is important better getting the Pulse X.

My with 21700 sit flat with no issue at all (zero modify), i think one member here actually slim down front door, so door can sit flat with zero issue.

Mine will not hold one, I tried pretty hard since the battery efficientcy on that mod is bad I really wanted a bigger battery to off set it a bit. Which 21700 is that? Not all of them are physically the same size, some companies make them slightly different.

Honestly, I gave my pulse to my wife. It didn't fit my needs overall, and the pulse x didn't address the issues i was having.

Grey is lg m50 and this one is Samsung 40t, cause I work around pcboard design for battery (charge n discharge) so I can access many different battery including some super rare or u dont find any info in the market....

All my 21700 can sit flat and work, only issue is front door cant lay flat (u won't realize it, thanks to strong magnet).
That is main reason I think cutting back should make it work.

Well, my black frosted Pulse X arrived a few hours ago. The 21700 fits just fine. :)

My Pulse 80w will be reserved for 20700 cells. Any 21700s I tried to shove in it would have resulting in damaging the wraps. Maybe not the first few times, but no reason to have to rewrap my cells weekly or gut my Pulse 80w to try to get it to fit.

Not worth the time/effort (to me at least) to widen the inside of the mod and shave the panels of the Pulse 80w now that there's a proper option with the Pulse X.

I'll continue using my 20700B's for the most part anyway. I just wanted the option of a properly fitting 21700.

The Pulse X rda looks nice. Not in a big hurry to try it though, pretty happy with my single coilers. Probably end up using it on a double battery device if I end up liking it. The single coilers and the 20700B make the battery life of the Pulse acceptable for me.

Thats interesting. My 40Ts do not fit my pulse. I physically have to push them hard, it's so tight it rips the wrap every time and then you can see the frame flexing slightly. I would take a pic, but my wife has the pulse with her and I don't feel like destroying another wrap.

I suppose it still leaks like the 80? I got a Vapefly Galaxies RDTA the other day and I thought maybe this one won't leak. So I had taken my 80 off of the shelf and filled the squonk bottle with juice and put the Vapefly Galaxies on top. Within 5 minutes a stream of juice ran down the side, around the fire button, across the screen, and around the up button. Geez! Cleaned it up, cleaned out the squonk bottle again, and put the 80 back up on the shelf. :(

Is there any reason you didn't return the defective one for a new one? Some are defective and leak but others are leak free, and VV recognizes this issue and honors their warranty when it comes to the leaking issue.

Where are you getting leaking from?

Mine has never leaked a drop that wasn't my fault.

I've heard a few cases of the 510 leaking internally.

Also, the some of the Vapefly Galaxies are missing an o-ring around the 510 pin. Are you sure it's the mod?

I've had a couple instance where it leaked under the 510 whenever i refilled and squonked, easily fixed it by taking a puff while the mod is vertical after squonking/filling.

Since i started doing this, not a single pool of ejuice was found under my 510 (besides the usual bit of juice that accumulates after a while).

It's a design defect. Having to return it for repair isn't going to do anything unless they use a totally different 510 like everybody else does. It is a well known design defect which Vandy Vape fixed the Pulse X by adding an extra o-ring on the Pulse X RDA. That is great if you are just using the Pulse X RDA, but no fix for using something else.

Yes I am sure it isn't the Galaxies. As everything else I throw on the 80 leaks too. That is why I shelved it to begin with. It leaks between the 510 and the RDA. And even Tony B mentions this when talking about the Pulse X. And the Pulse X RDA has an extra o-ring fixes this well known leaking problem.

If it is a design defect, I wonder why mine is totally leak free? Never had it leak a drop since the day I got it, and my wife uses it for her "take to work" mod every day. I lean towards it being more of a quality control or tolerance defect personally.

Yeah probably. But Vandy Vape tried to fix it by applying the fix to the RDA instead. That is just ridiculous to me. Why not fix the real problem? Both Tony B and Vandy Vape just keeps making excesses why they didn't do it right. Frankly I am sick of them. I'm sticking to things that actually works. Sure you have to spend a little more, but it is well worth it.

I'm not trying to defend them, just trying to help you get a better product that is actually useable. They are a low end company, so you can't expect vicious ant quality out of it.

Bone dry. Guess I got lucky and got one with better, tighter tolerances on my first try.

I just opened mine up too, been using it since it first came out, and NO signs of leaking inside.

I've gotten a little juice under my RDA if using an atty with a short 510, but not enough that it leaks or makes a mess. I don't even see it until I remove the RDA.

@BillW50 It's worth getting it replaced under warranty. You already paid for it, why not?
