I work for a government agency and i went with the easier to ask forgiveness route and it worked. I never have tried to hide it, and everyone is just so happy i gave up the analogs that i don't think they would care if i smoked crack. a lot of my smoker friends i think will be making the switch witch is ether good or bad. good is more support for it, bad is it will be a lot more visible to everyone

I vape at my desk. I learned an old adage a long time ago, "It's easier to ask forgiveness than to get permission". I never asked if I could, just started. I have my own office, but the door stays open. No one has said a word. Well, they have asked what it was I was using. Most have said, "Good for you".

Ditto. A former colleague often cited that adage, good advice ;)

I vape all day in my office. Most of the time the door is open. My boss knows and the SR HR Manager also knows. However, now that NJ has banned it where smoking is banned, I am not sure what will happen. I don't know if they know that yet. I am sure the state will notify them soon. I would have been better off if I never told them. Once they find out about the ban, I am sure they will make it known to me. GRRRRRRR!
Then I will have to sneak around or keep the door shut and locked!. :sneaky::mad:

I showed the bosses the first day and they have been fine with it ever since.
I vape throughout the ambulance station and in the ambulance (as long as there isn't a patient on board). Several people at work have ordered e-cigs since and the boss is stoked that less people are using analogs.
I brought in my home made PT last shift and got a request to help a co-worker make one.
It's also been fun having co-workers guess what flavor I'm vaping...:D

I think I'm going to do the bathroom vape stealth. After 7PM when no one else in on my floor I vape at my desk (started tonight), I have 18-24mg level so a few vapes and I am good. I should lower the level for when I'm home, I am getting some strong nicotine highs when I chain vape!

Glad to see a lot of you are vaping at work and some allowed when some are not. Can't let the corporate goons get us down! lol

I work on an ARMY installation, I was read the riot act about how tobacco products aren't allowed withing 50ft of an ARMY building. I said I understand that, handed over my pv and asked them to show me where the tobacco was. I explained that there is no tobacco, not only can I vape at my workstation but my director has switched over to pv's! I've even heard that he sometimes forgets what he's doing and vapes durring meetings.

I vape all day in my little cubicle world. No complaints at all. I too work in a government building and have adopted the "don't ask, don't tell" policy. If you use common sense I would think most places would be ok with it. (i.e. not vaping in meetings, while talking with people, ect.)

This approach has worked well for me....

I vape at work but I have a private office and the door's usually shut. No one knows about it yet except the other smokers. They want to be kept up to date as to how it's going because we're a chain-smoking bunch and I'm the first to "fly the coop" so to speak. (Although I still spend about five minutes outside with them on the regular 10:00 and 3:00 breaks so I don't blow my cover)

On the bright side, I'm enjoying not having to be outside in the weather as much and I'm seeing more personal productivity by the end of the day. Regardless of whether or not that pleases the boss, it's pleasing to me so I'm going to keep it up for as long as I can. :thumb:

I've also got a small office to myself, and have been vaping a few times a day with the door open. So far no one has even noticed, even when coming into my office shortly after the vapor clears. I'm also the only smoker left in my office, and I think they're just glad I no longer reek when coming back in from an analog smoke break.

I vape openly at my desk, directly across from my coworker, who also vapes. My supervisor passes by once in a while with an XHALER clutched in her hand. Recently, our "bonuses" have been the juice she doesn't care for anymore.
The only negative I have experienced is the guy who replaces us at the end of shift, who complains the area smells like a strip bar. lol
