I was going to suggest something very similar to what you stated (the chocolate partnering with the Scots). I tell ya, the same thing happened with me last night when 36tinybells told me about the red wine and subtly chocolate flavored juices. A match made in vape & Drink!
Let us know, about your adventures in finding a mate for the pinot noir. I am about to go to sleep so I look forward to reading your findings. Also, could you let us know the particulars of the wine. Thanks for responding and good luck!

It is a Lindemans 2010 Bin 99 Pinot Noir. I like their Shiraz, and they had a few others on sale, so I picked up one of each. It is pretty darn good, really smooth and almost creamy, with a nice black cherry undertone. I really like reds that have a smokey element to them, so I figured I would go with some earthy juices. I went through a bunch, and here is what I liked and why:

1) My DIY coffee (made from Thomas coffee) with French Vanilla flavor added. Just a little sweet with a nice bold coffee flavor. The vanilla was the star of this one though. Good contrast to the dry berry flavor of the wine.

2) C2G Chocolate Covered Cherry. A bit too much cherry, but the chocolate was what I was after (no other chocolate juices). This juice has an almost dark chocolate flavor, so it made my mouth feel like it was extra cherry-y CCCs. Delish.

3) Vapor God Blackberry. This was my 2nd fave. Really worked well with the wine. Just a touch of sweet and a great blackberry flavor really added to the sensation. I liked hitting this one right after a drink, or even while it was still in my mouth. If I could find a wine that tasted like this I would buy it often.

4) Gourmet Vapor Vanilla tobacco mixed with a little Vanillin from Chi-Town Vapers. This was my #1. Nice earthy tobacco flavor with a good amount of vanilla thrown in. The tobacco gave me the smokey hints, and the vanilla really helped to carry the cherry flavor to an entire new level. Kind of reminded me of a Missouri wine from Crown Valley a while back (they stopped making it, at least under it's old name - Sirah), but less smokey. Excellent combo I will have to share with my wife next time we have a bottle together.

I did try quiet a few others, but nothing else really worked for me. Good Prophets GP4 was pretty good, but not great. GP's Banana Creme Pie, while a good vape, did not mix well. TV Geoffs was nasty to follow. Etc., etc.

Sorry to ramble on. I guess a few glasses of wine will do that to a fella! Tomorrow I am going to try to find something to go with my Boulevard Single-Wide IPA!

Off to clean a bunch of atty's before hitting the sack!

Good luck in all of your pairing experiments!

Kevin

Thanks Kevin!

It was never my intention to be the adviser on this thread per se, but to offer suggestions and to get the ball rolling. I think your post is absolutely fantastic and will be very helpful to us. I am really excited by your results with #4, I definitely believe for a vanilla to work with the red wine, it must have an earthier/tobacco body to it (but, that is just a guess).
I can't wait to have more to offer.

Oh, and feel free to ramble on!

I just recently received a buttload of Dekang juice and the Winston by itself is alright, but the blueberry is quite overpowering, so I mixed about 75% Winston and 25% blueberry in a Vision Ego clear carto and it's great! It's got a mellow tobacco juice flavor with a hint of blueberry koolaid. It's not sweet at all and it goes really well with drinking cranberry juice. :)
