Alright so my friends and I have a problem where sometimes (frequent enough to find a solution) my vape will give a larger hit than normal. It sounds different than my "regular" hits and if you look at the resistance, it has gone up (mine from ~.3 to ~.5). It also tastes burnt even though it has happened the first hit after juicing. Even after rebuilding it happens and my friends and I all have different RDAs and box mods. Anyone had this problem/found a solution? My only thought has to be involving the cotton in some way.

Well, being an RDA, there is not much. Is the wick saturated, even in the coil? Is the airflow open? If you "draw" to fast, the wick may not be able to get to the coil fast enough. What watts are you at? Start out low and step up until you get a slight burn taste, then back down. That is if you want to go high in watts to begin with. Remember, high VG content does not flow through the wick as fast.

Consider the juice flowing, the air coming in, and the amount of watts.

Make sure the post screws in your atty are tight, the atty doesn't have an internal short, and the 510 on your mod is clean. The changing resistance is causing the voltage to spike, resulting in the toasty hits. The resistance is changing because you either have a short or less than solid connections.

Sounds like you have a bad or loose connection from your coils to your posts. If the resistance increases from 0.3 ohms to 0.5 ohms, then the mod is going to fire at a much higher voltage, which can cause what you are describing. Clean all of the connection points on your RDA (the post screws, the posts themselves, the 510 connection, take everything apart and clean every piece), and make sure all your connections are tight. Before clipping off the extra wire after tightening the posts, if you pull on the extra wire, your coils should not move. Also be sure to regularly tighten your post screws, as they can sometimes loosen themselves up from heating up and cooling down.
