I wanted to bring to your attention a nice article by Jim McDonald over at Vaping360.com.

Life insurance for vapers? - Vaping360

Insightful and well written piece and very on point as far as our mission here at Latitude.

One correction: in describing the blood test that is part of a life insurance physical, the article states that "The test can’t tell the source of the nicotine in your system,...."

As I have written about previously, the crux issue is being able to differentiate between cigarette smoking and vaping or other nic delivery systems. Life insurers can tell if the source of nicotine is from smoking through the presence of Thiocyanate, a combustion marker that shows up in the blood test.

No Thiocyanate, no smoking. This is in part why Vapers can get a NonSmoker rate and is an important point to consider.

Thanks for the great article, Jim.
