It won't include ordering directly from Perfumers. The same flavors we buy are used by the food industry and others. For Perfumers and some other big suppliers vaping is likely a very small part of their market.

It might include companies that specifically market to the vape industry, or sell both hardware and juice. Some flavoring companies have changed their names over the last few years and removed all references to vaping from their websites, probably in anticipation of something like this. I'm not sure if this has been clarified or not, I haven't heard either way.

After little research into some of the flavor manufacturers, I'm not convinced flavors won't be on the chopping block. Some of these flavor manufacturers seem to position themselves as vaping flavor manufacturers and little to no positioning as food or other flavors.

This is why I made a post about which grocery store flavors might be safe for vaping last week, but it didn't gain much traction. Vapers seem to feel rather safe about flavors not being able to be touched by the tyrants. I used to feel that way, too, but I'm kinda sorta not so sure anymore.

However, not much we can do about it. But we can stock up on nic because we know that's gonna be impossible to get through the mail. Here's a list of nic vendors I put in a blog post.

I think it depends on the vendor. For example, Flavorah Arts markets itself to the vaping community and is probably going to be targeted. BCF, despite their name change, also markets themselves to vapers. The Flavor Apprentice markets themselves to cooking and candy making and it will be possible to order direct from their website, but you will have to pay their high shipping rates. They can add hazmat fees if the flavor contains any alcohol. Capella is also aimed at bakers and can be purchased from Amazon. So, I don't think we will be limited to grocery store flavors, but our choices may be fewer than they are now.

I will say one thing in favor of flavors being available by mail. The government has a lot on it's hands even without vape & vape is such a different ball game than tobacco. If they do swing an ax at certain flavor brands, It be a while. Will be important to keep an eye on things, a finger on the pulse.

I ordered from Flavor Apprentice last year when the resellers quit stocking my favorite ginger flavor.

One problem with buying from them directly might be selecting flavorings that are suitable for vaping. Like not containing oils. I used TFA exclusively for quite a while when I started mixing so I have a long list of TFA flavorings that are OK. That wouldn't be the case for someone starting DIY 6 months from now, or moving to TFA after their vape specific supplier closed down. I wouldn't have that information if I wanted to shop from Capella. Maybe places like ECF would be a source of info about suitable flavors. Maybe it's possible to figure it out from the information they provide for their products. I can see folks without good information getting into trouble though.

I believe TFA is a subsection of the Perfumers site which is all vape suitable flavorings. They might even have to stop separating those flavorings out from their overall product line. We really don't know how this will all play out.

TFA is The Perfumer Appreciate's flavor page, not just those flavors suitable for vaping. It lists both water and oil soluble flavors, but they are clearly labeled, so it shouldn't be hard for anyone to get vape safe flavors, as long as they know to stay away from oils. That's where the newbie education comes in.

So I have a question - when does the ban go into effect?

I am trying to plan my last minute Nic orders and I want to know when I have to have it all ordered by.

End of March/Early April. If you have the money, just buy it now.

If vendors know they are going to be cut off they will likely try to run their stock down, so everything will get harder to find towards the end. Best not to wait I guess.

they are also banning payments we use, Paypal now banned more than half vape stores who used their payments, many with 10+ years of history without a single problem. Looks like they're going to ban all vape related merchants soon. Ridiculous :danger:

But the strangest thing is that Ebay still hosts Paypal payments for "anything" related to vaping, even 72mg nicotine liquids. Although "i" wouldn't buy nicotine liquid from Ebay. Bit iffy that.
