Sorry in advance for this not being at all helpful, but seems to me that you really shouldn't be using a "mechanical mod" if you don't have any idea how to use it, which it sounds as though you don't.
I've never been anywhere near a mech. If i did decide to go down that road i'd spend a long time researching all the safety aspects before picking up a mech.
To me i always assume mechs are something used by either vape veterans or those who have prior knowledge of all the electrical knowhow associated with these particular devices.
