This was on the news this morning. The rechargable lithium-ion battery was loose in his pocket. My guess is that he had keys, change, etc in the pocket as well.
It's a shame that the media will blow this out if proportion and cast a bad light on vaping in general. All because of one individual's stupidity.

Arlington Man Sets Crotch On Fire, Sues Vape Shop Over Exploding E-Cig Battery « CBS Dallas / Fort Worth

I dunno; if a guy goes into a shop and buys some lights and party stuff for a birthday party, the FIREWORKS should come with some big red "WARNING" and "CAUTION" markings

People sue for anything! Remember a few years back when all those obese people started suing McDonald's and other fast food chains, saying "they're the reason they are obese." That blew my mind! But even worse, some of those people were actually winning!!! What's scarier; that way of thinking or the people (jurors) who are dumb enough to believe it wasn't their fault!!

It's scary out there!

When I purchased my first gas powered lawn mower, the half inch thick manual was chock full of all of these warnings on how to properly operate the mower. One that stood out was a warning that you should not lift the running mower up off the ground to use it to trim your hedges. All I could think is that warning was prompted by someone actually trying to do that. The graphic that accompanied the warning showed a stick figure holding the mower at chest height on a hedge.

I guess if I cut off my arm with my chainsaw, I should sue Lowe's.

If I cut myself with a knife, I should sue Walmart.

If I roll my tractor over on a slope going sideways, I'll sue Yanmar.

If I crash my motorcycle, I'll sue Triumph.

You just passed the citizenship exam with flying colors Roxy!

Nope, because those industries have covered themselves with safety documentation. We knew this was coming.

So does McDonalds now have warning signs that their food is fattening? I haven't been in one in years so maybe they do. I didn't notice any warnings on the bag of Reeses peanut butter eggs I just bought. I suppose it should say on it that they are fattening and might cause cavities.

I lost my new Itaste 20 watt w a brand new nautulus mini tank I had just put on, at a casino the other night. Whoever found it didn't turn in to lost and found. I hope it blows up when it's in their lizard lips.

Now now don't wish harm on others because you lost your mod. Karma will bite you as it will them, wish them the best and get another.

And what have we learned?...

...It was probably a better idea to rip the pants off first, before running into the house and heading for the shower. He should lose at least $100,000 of the settlement for deciding modesty was a greater virtue than common sense.

Have we reached the point yet that forks have to come with warning stickers to not shove them into electrical sockets?
