Hi all,

I have been vaping 100 percent for about 10 days and had a few minor things I notice. Hope not to make anyones stomach upset...

I heard some have chest or lung pains from vaping and it might be alergic to something in the vape but I seem to get minor chest pain or lung pain right when I wake up or right before. Like it wakes me up in the morning. I can feel it when breathing in deep. Right at the bottom of the rib cage or so. Very minor more like discomfort not pain.

After waking up and vaping it goes away. It is not any time during the day and I vape alot I would think. Its like if I stop vaping for a while over night is when it happens. I must need to vape more like while sleeping :vapor:. Maybe I will keep one next to the bed or sleep with one in my mouth lol.

Another thing may be quiting related but I had a thought it might be vaping related as it is vapor. Its like when I do not talk for a while I have to clear my throat or it sounds like I have flem or something.

I dont cough anymore from smoking and its a little different and thought it might be the vapor related.

Any simular experiences or different experiences when just starting out we can compare notes?

I love vaping and I am glad I read around here and found the right one. I have no desire to go back to analogs and I am surprised how easy it was to quit them with V4L. Thanks all for listening...

Ches, there's good information in the ECF main Health Forum. When I first started, I found a lot of my related symptoms in this thread.

I found I was able to deal with the phlegm by really increasing my fluid intake, and also using a neti pot or a sinus rinse bottle. If you're not familiar with those, I'll pm you more information.

ETA: I went through the exact same symptoms as you. I hesitate to give advice, because, a) I am not a medical professional, and b) everyone is different, but my symptoms did pass after all of the GUNK that I had polluted my lungs with worked its way out. I think my symptoms were less vaping related and more related to quitting smoking. Your mileage may vary, and if in doubt, please check with your doctor. ;)

As well, there is an entire forum dedicated to health related issues that folks have experienced after making the decision to become Vapers.

Health, Safety and E-Smoking

As for throat issues you maybe having, it could be caused from PG since it's a sugar alcohol and it may be drying out the your throat. As for your lungs hurting that may just be a sign of withdrawal and the healing process.

There is a lot of good shared info on the forum link I listed.

Well Ches when I first stated vaping, much like Joyce I started getting worried as I was experiencing some minor chest pains. dry skin patches, minor acne, and for some reason I would become really tired in the middle of the day.

So after doing a little reading up in the Health forum it was comforting to know that I wasn't alone since I didn't want to quit vaping. For others they discover that their symptoms and issues are a result of being allergic to PG and actually have to switch to VG based juices or quit vaping.

My symptoms vanished after a month or so, a few lingered like the dry throat a little longer but finally ended.

exactly the same for me... still dealing with the flem thingy... but I'll never forget back in the early 80's when one of my teachers quit smoking... he kept apologizing for clearing his throat and a flemy voice, stating that he had quit smoking and everything was coming out of his system...

For me, I got 30 years of crap to clear outta my lungs, so I'm not going to worry about it...

I always make sure I have a glass of water hanging around while vaping... I drink ALOT these days!

Just my experience... 6 weeks ago I quit ciggys and went 100% on vaping. The first 10 days to 2 weeks I had some issues where I just couldnt seem to get a full breath. Like I had to really breath to fill up my lungs. I also had some lung pains, but mine were higher up. That did go away! It was almost like my lungs were "sticky" for a better word.

The phlem in the throat still hits me now and then but as everyone above said... fluids fluids and more fluids.

The coughing up didnt start for me till recently. Seems like it has to slough off before it can start wanting out!

All in all, I felt like my lungs were trying to wake up after smoking for so long..... kinda like exercising... muscles hurt till they start feeling good!

If the lung pains are severe, or wake you up.. you should get it checked out!!!!

congrats on quitting the ciggs!!!!!

I have only had a few occasions of this since i quit smoking and started vaping. Only in the morning and up high in the chest. For me I feel like it is a healing stiffness. However if the pain you feel is causing you concern go see your doctor and talk about it. There is no harm in being careful and when it comes to your health that is especially true.
