Ok, quick question:

I've read up on what vape tongue is but I'm confused as to if I have it.

I've not smoked in years, I just really enjoyed vaping to stop dipping and such.

I've had no issues but just stared building my own coils. Nothing crazy. 0.4-0.5 build on an Aromamizer RDTA with the velocity style deck.

The usual issues arose, first things were great, then I had to change the wick and would use too much or not enough. The worst part is the burnt cotton hits I experienced until I got it right. The headaches from it too sucked.

I'm finally good to go but now: I cannot taste any of my juice and it's not just the one I really use all the time.

Today I went out and bought 4 different brands and everything has NO taste and it really irritates my throat and chest. It burns like a dry hit but it is not.

My friends at work used my current build and mod and said the flavor was great and not harsh at all.

The juices range from 70/30 VG PG to 90/10 VG PG. 0.3% Nic and they all hit the same. Harsh and no flavor to me.

Is this normal? Doesn't matter if it is a dessert flavor or citrus/fruit flavor.

Dual coil, 26 gauge Kanthal, 0.4-0.5 ohm running on 34-40 watts. Nothing close to too extreme on any of that.

Help

Sounds like vape tongue to me. I just had a bout myself while getting my RBA in my kanger subtanks running. Burning cotton and .... everywhere. I do between .5-.7ohm and I couldn't taste anything for 4 or 5 days there. Didn't matter which juice. The good news is it will come back on it's own. In the meantime try and drink as much water as you can, you've probably noticed some dry mouth. I've tried all the biotene products for dry mouth, I'm still on the fence as to whether that .... actually helps or not.

Uggh, vaper's tongue is the worst! It was the hardest part about beginning vaping for me. I needed the flavor! Another suggestion to try might be to get a strong flavor, like a cinnamon red hot.

Make sure you drink LOTS of water and brush your teeth (and tongue) more often until it passes. Good luck to you! :)

Hey just think of it as an incentive for you to never go back to the stinkies. It will remind you that in most cases the ciggy smoke almost always deadened the taste buds so you couldn't taste anything but ashy smoke till you quit the stinkies. LOL thats what comes to mind when I get it. It'll go away again, though so just tough it out :thumb:. Drinks lotsa water (or whatever hydrates cuz I hate water. :))
