Good topic. -

I could give you the list of the things I used to need (multimeter - solder - jewelers loop - jewelers screw driver - paper towels - syringes - tank tool (same as yours) - carto jig - in line volt meter - rare earth magnets - noalox - helping hands with magnifying glass - copper tape - copper wire - soldering iron - flux - etc etc etc etc).

For the last year (a little more than that), I've been using a couple of REOs and Cisco attys almost exclusively. Other than the spout on the 100ml AVE bottles, I can't think of anything I'd call a tool or gadget I've needed. I charge my batteries, fill my bottles, and enjoy my vape now with no tinkering required.

Without a doubt, my Slap Yo Moma tank tool is the best thing that I have ever bought outside of my Provari's. It not only makes filling and assembling my cartotanks a breeze, it protects their o-rings from unnecessary trauma.

Toothpicks placed in the center air hole when filling the cartomizer is a nice touch and eliminates the need to blow the carto out after filling it. The paper towels, Q-tips, alcohol are the common household items that are also useful in e-cig maintanance.

A dental pick tool is useful to adjust the coils of an RBA. The little brush that is supplied with electric/rechargeable mustache trimmers is useful to lightly brush the dried juice gunk buildup when dry-burning a coil. A blunt needle and syringe is useful for adding or removing e-liquid from an RBA juice fill hole.

Speaking of Hobby Lobby, I found a neat mini-tool set case which works perfect as a cartotank carrying case: tankcase1.jpgmini-tool-set-with-case.jpghttp://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/8-piece-mini-tool-set-with-case-720318/

The battery cases that RTD Vapor sells can also double as a portable cartotank or clearotank carrying case:

I use a converted portable laptop case when I need to bring a bunch of my mods and gear with me. It has three zippered pockets; two hand grasp staps and a shoulder strap. Made by Swiss Gear.

I got a fly tying bobbin threader tool that is basically a really long needle threader that works great for replacing the silica wicks in my protank. I can pull them out and replace them with cheesecloth wicks in just a minute or two without having to replace the coil.

Not the exact one I have but really close... and cheaper than the $4 I paid

From IBTanked - tank tool and thingys (to hold either carto tanks or the 500 million o-rings I have collected). QTips - to clean up messy battery connections of spilled juice. Toothpicks - filling cartos without blowing out the center tube. For RBAs a set of tiny screwdrivers my husband gave me, ohm meter, and nail clippers to trim wire. Moist towlettes I carry with me if I get messy filling a tank on the go (or if hubby wants BBQ). Paper towels and lots of storage.

I look forward to someone taking many of the ideas and suggestions and 'how i do it' info and creating the first "Vapor's Essential Kilt" and make an unmitigated fortune :)

My 'kit' has a couple of things I cannot live without when it comes to maintenance, rebuilding and just mucking about with all things vapor related:

Johnson and Johnson Safety Swaps for Children - specially shaped for infants/childrens ears. They are not regular Q-tips that we are used to, but shaped small at the tip and then blossom out into a fluffier ball. They are great for cleaning connectors, they get in all the threads and crevices well.

Then I have a very small pair of hemostats and a pair of needlenose pliers both with very small pointed noses.

I also a bunch of packets of handi wipes (aka moistened towelettes generically I think).

And the obligatory paperclip. They come in colors now so you even hang one on your various colored lanyards if you wear those to suspend your PV from - its all about style. :)

I am not a tinkerer..if it doesn't work right off the bat, forgetta bout it :) However I have recently been forced to customize a batch of vivi nova wicks, the kind with 4 wicks. I had to clip out a section of the plastic to place over the actual wicks. They work great now. That's about the extent of my tinkering I'm willing to do.

Meanwhile I do keep a couple of things in my ecig kit that I take with me everywhere I go. Manicure scissors and tweezers. That's about it. I really appreciate the advise on this thread! The things that caught my attention were the childrens' q tips and the brush to wipe away the coils after a dry burn. Brilliant! I'm sure I can find a small brush at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. Thanks for the great tips!

micro fiber towels. I have a bunch. I buy the 25 packs from Sams and use them for cleaning. They last a lot longer then paper towel and once they are filthy and (everytime you touch it you get liquid on you lol) throw it in the washer and you can reuse again later!, Rubbing Alchy, Tweezers, QTIPS are a must, ohm meter, small screw driver with flat & phillips on each end, paper clip, sharp scissors, tons of Kanthal in various gauges, silica, and SS mesh, butane torch, extra butane cause you will run out in the middle of something, carto tool, extra orings

binder clips; I remove the metal clips from the black clip part. Handy to take along to open cartos or other things people use dental pics for. I also have several dental pics and hemostats.

I also have a baby syringe; it is a syringe with a ribberized end that goes on, hard to explain, purchased at drug store. For cleaning cartos, take off top of carto, stick that end into the ribberized end, attach to syringe. Hot water, place atty end of carto in water, and pull and plunge syringe several time. remove from water and pull and plunge about 20-30 times to expel as much water as you can. I then put them aside to dry for 24-48 hours. Great tool!
