Two weeks in and I'm still doing a lot of research, but one thing I've noticed is how disposable a lot of the smaller bits are. Clearo heads, wicks and coils and especially carts and standard CE4-type clearos are all limited-use items. Get a couple weeks at best, then toss them out.

That's a lot of waste, relatively speaking. Kinda bugs me, but it's less than I'd have by throwing out a dozen or so cigarette butts every day. What do you do to deal with this waste? Maybe try to minimize what you toss out? Do you recycle, find some way to reuse, or just pitch it?

Replacement heads can be rebuilt & that alone will save you cash & make you feel 'greener.'

I have a major issue throwing things away, so I tend to avoid buying disposable gear personally. RBA have been awesome in that regard. Along with getting away from batteries without the ability to change out the cell.

The plastic maybe recyclable depending on your area (our family business has a bailer that takes most anything under the sun). The metal can definitely be taken to scrap piles. Coil & wick is garbage. Batteries can be recycled at radioshack etc.

Cartomizers are, imo, the most wasteful. I found cleaning them to be hit or miss, so I run them into the ground & throw them away. Having just gotten into carto-tanks I'm not really stoked on this. I vape unflavored so I should get decent life from them, fingers crossed it's 3-4 weeks. 12/year isn't that bad.

Cartos are a minor issue. I go through one about every 10 days. Can't be recycled as metal as far as I can tell.

The biggest waste issue with my rig are the Li-ion batteries. Nobody considers them to be worth recycling. They go to the landfill but they aren't as harmful there as other battery types which can be recycled.

Any place that takes old phones will more than likely take Li-Ion cells off your hands, as will radioshack, batteries plus, etc.

Now where they go from there, I'm not sure, but not much we can do about it.
