So Cal
Holy f- um, I mean cripes! I finally dragged out a .5 Subtank OCC coil to try out with a clean tank. I picked 0 nic Vanilla Clouds, that is nicely steeped now and I did not like it at all fresh OOB. So I cranked up the stick to 22w and oh my goooood God, it's f-- um, pretty good.

(It's fantastic, and the little Subtank at 0.5 can really make Vanilla Clouds...into clouds.) So much good. So much. I'm not feeling great today, still have good and bad days since quitting, but this helped a little, I think.

I'm curious... if you still have cravings for an analog cig and have good and bad days, why the 0mg nic? I'd say you might be setting yourself up for failure. I think it would be better to slowly ween yourself off for best chance of success! I started with 24mg 2 months ago, and shortly after dropped to 12, now I've been at 6mg for the last 5 weeks!

I was fantastic at quitting cigs many times over my 50+ years, but I always went cold turkey and failed within 6 months by cheating here and there. I also always had the cravings for them. Since I took up vaping seriously, I haven't even craved an analog at all!

No, no let me clear this up. It's only because I wasn't sure of the volume that the 0.5 coil would throw out, I just did one fill of 0 nic to 'test'. I could easily do 3 or 6mg with it, I'm sure. I am dropping quickly, yes. But I have a lot...a lot..of 6mg and 3mg and 0mg juice. And I'm already comfortable with 6...actually sometimes I get a little woozy chaining 6mg, even with the 1.2 coils.

This was only to try out the 0.5 coil. And it sure is nice.

My other Subtank is full of 6mg OCC, and I've been switching back and forth.

Edit: I started out at 12mg and I can't even vape 12 anymore without nearly vomiting. Seriously. My nicotine resistance is fading pretty fast, honestly.

My order just changed from "Arrived in Coppell" which it had been listed as for only 24 hrs to "arrived Little Rock" - hopefully it will be showing up at my door tommorrow - I have enough juice on hand already to last me through the steep, just hope I can make myself do it

Ooh, you escaped the black hole! Nice!

Good luck resisting the steep, I couldn't do it on any new flavors :)

OK, ok! If you were vaping 12mg at 1.2 ohms you do not want 12mg in a .5 ohm device. Most here suggest cutting your nic level in half when sub ohming. Is the tank with the 6mg a 1.2 or .5 coil?

I had an incident 2 weeks ago showing off at the vape shop with others and I got so freaking dizzy I though I was going to pass out!

The tank with the 0.5 is currently 0 nic but I will refill it with 3mg. The other tank has the 1.2 coil and 6mg, which I am quite comfortable with when I need a nic hit. So, that sounds about right. I imagine in a month or so, I'll be doing 3mg and 0mg, and then finally 0mg. That is my overall goal. Eventually I will put the vaping down...or I might not, it's hard to say. But I am quite determined to at least get to 0mg. Even if it takes months.

YES... If you are vaping a 6mg normally with the 1.2 ohm coils, you should go to a 3mg when sub ohming!

I am using sub ohm coils 90+% of the time now and use 6mg for that. If I use a 1+ ohm coil I still use the 6mg and it has a much weaker hit.

Lastly... I wouldn't be in a hurry to cut your nic! Nic is the 2nd most addictive substance out there, heroine is #1! That ought to put the power of nic addiction into proper perspective. For the best chance of success at staying quit, go slow and steady like the tortoise, not fast like the hare!

Great job on the quit Darryl!!
I'm only a week ahead of you (63 days), but just dropped from 18mg to 12mg.
Like you, several quits didn't stick 'cause it was so hard.
Since vaping, I've probably only had a few urges. So much easier... thank goodness.

Edit: and with my new K4, think I need to drop it again soon HA

Thanks capthook!

I going into a holding pattern at 6mg, as my vaping (and juice consumption) has gone way up! Partly due to sub ohm tanks and partly due to the nic addiction! LOL!

I don't see dropping to a 3mg anytime soon! My goal is to be vaping a 0mg by years end! I'm following other successful quitters now vapers advice!

Several guys I know that chain sub with RBAs have gone to 0 nic. They can't handle 3mg even :)

How long have they been vaping full time? I'm only 2 months in, since totally quitting cigs and vaping 100% of the time. SO I NEED SOME NIC STILL!
I swear this is the last time I quit cigs and I am committed to it now! Vaping is making it easy!

My first order arrived today, pretty happy with getting 5 free samples. Now I have a lot of taste testing to do, bottles are all nearly 3 weeks old so I'm thinking with some shaking and a little breathing they should be nearly ready to go. :)

People quit smoking cold turkey without vaping. Do you think it would be easier vaping 0 nic versus nothing? Do you really need nicotine or just think you need nicotine? As long as you think you need it, you will have to have it. I don't know how long any of these guys smoked but they said they had no problem droppin to zero.

I've quit cold turkey too... I can tell you it didn't work for me the 6 or so times I tried. Longest success was 6 months.

My point is that nicotine is highly addictive and I wouldn't suggest anyone with the intent of quitting cigs for good move straight to 0mg. Most successful former smokers who turned to vapes, have told me to gradually cut your nic levels. For me I went from 24 to 12, now thanks to sub ohm tanks Im at a 6. I want to stay a non-smoker for the rest of my life and their "ween yourself off nic slowly" approach makes sense to me. I doubt a pack or more a day smoker for over 20 years would want to cut to a 0mg within the first 2 months of vaping.

Since you brought up that you know people who had no problem dropping to 0mg, I asked how long they were vaping. I think it makes a helluva difference if they were off cigs for 6-12 months before dropping to 0mg vs trying to drop to 0mg quickly. For some it may work, for me I doubt it... even though I have ZERO cig cravings since I started vaping.

E-liquid and vaping for me is much more than a placebo... yes I need (or think I need) the nic. I choose to follow the success stories Ive heard firsthand and slowly ween myself of nicotine as it does make perfect sense to me a 6+ time quitter. Also from my point of view getting 6mg of nic is better than all the other toxins and carcinogens in analogs

Oh yes its summer over here and I'm in the tropics so everything is green and beautiful, downside is its hot as hell and very humid too, thank god for air conditioning.

On another note I've been vaping Sweet Complexity and it is amazing, definitely will need a big bottle on my next order. On Cloud Custard is very nice too, not the best I've had but very good, probably on par with kustard from GLV but at under half the price.

I'm not gonna criticize your choice of who you follow or what they had to do to quit smoking. But I'm not gonna recommend anyone to do the same. If you think you need to ween yourself off of nicotine slowly then you will have to do it slowly. There are many factors to consider but they all stem from your thoughts and nothing will work if you don't believe it will. Most smokers I know that quit after vaping went straight to 12mg nicotine. Two of them went up to 18mg but still refrained from smoking. I don't know anybody that has quit vaping yet, even the few that have gone zero nic. I know of one vape shop in this area that starts most of his customers at 12 nic and getting it done with comparable results of another B&M that start's her customers off at 18. I started my MIL at 6mg and she quit after a week. She had a 60+ year addiction. Don't underestimate yourself. Good luck and I'm happy you quit the cigs.
