Hello everyone! I am a newbie and I have vaped in the past on and off, but something breaking or just not working always sends me back to the cigs... I'm really hoping you guys can help!

I bought some victoria sponge juice online, I was super excited about it until it arrived and I couldn't taste anything. I can still taste the other juice I had in my other tank so I thought that maybe it was just rubbish juice.

So today I went to my local vape shop and tried a bunch of flavours, delicious! I excitedly cleared out the vic sponge from my vape and refilled with the new. Lo and behold no taste.

My other Baby Beast which is exactly the same has fantasi lemonade in and I can taste this fine... any help please..?? The coil is brand new btw!

I can't say specifically what is going on here. It appears that you have two identical tanks and coil resistance, but one of the tanks is not producing flavor, while the other tank is. Is this what is going on?

You said that the coil in the "tasteless" tank is brand new. Did you thoroughly "prime" the coil with e-liquid prior to putting it into the tank? You can't just put a new "dry" coil into a tank and expect it to work well. I'll include a tutorial video below for the Baby Beast tank and how to prime the coils.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!
I cant watch the video because I'm at work but I can say that I always prime new coils as I've burnt too many to not learn from my mistakes!! I drop some liquid into each of the holes in the sides and then I fill the tank and I actually left this one overnight.

Can there be a problem with the actual tank that could be causing this?

I can't think of a reason that might cause a tank to be "tasteless". Has this tank every produced a flavorful vape?

Have you experimented with different wattage levels? Try dropping the wattage way down from what you are used to using. Some fragile flavors are sensitive to too much heat (ie fruit flavors). Gradually increase the power to a point that you are satisfied by the vapor production, and hopefully the flavor production.

You may have a lousy coil. Its not unheard of to get a bad coil (or a bad batch).

New tanks may have machine oils or particulate matter inside the tank that could cause an unpleasant taste. Most people will do a good rinse in water prior to using a new tank.

Some flavors can "taint" the silicone o-rings that are inside the tank to prevent leaking. Most tanks come packaged with replacement o-rings.

About once a week I poke a Qtip through the tank mouthpiece into the coil area to remove unvaporized "gunk" buildup. If not removed, it could cause an unpleasant taste.

That's all I got.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Your not making yourself clear with the problem you are experiencing. Do you have two identical tanks with the same coil and one taste satisfactory and the other not?

How many watts do you vape at?

Glad it's solved, Scarlet Vaper. :) There are "recommended" resistances on your coils that can probably get you in a ballpark, although really just priming low and moving up incrementally until you get a "satisfying" vape can work just as well. I will often vape slightly below recommended settings, but sometimes within them.... It depends on the tank, coil and juice and airflow, lots of things will affect flavor but I'm glad you found a wattage range that works for you. No need to feel like an idiot, vaping isn't always easy especially at first. I have made many "newcomer" mistakes in the past, and just moved on from them. :)
