Well I opened up the parcel containing my silver Lava Tube about 6 hours ago, and have been vaping non-stop since.

I have to say I am very pleased with the device. It is my first VV and I'm absolutely loving it, perhaps a little too much. I've had too much nicotine (feeling a little queasy), and had to force myself to stop! Perhaps I need to step down from my 24mg and 18mg juices.

Anyway, I'm about to hit the sack, but I'll share a quick first impression:

Cons:
Bottom plastic cap is a little crooked
510 connector slightly off center as well
Small irregularity in the silver ano
Buttons are small, but this is nice in that it's basically impossible to change the settings unless you intend to
Overall it looks nice; an attractive piece, but definitely not a showpiece, I wouldn't want to drop it either.

Pros:
Functions great!
I have never had a "vaping experience" this good before
I was able to find the perfect voltage for each juice and carto
I did not experience any voltage drop as the battery depleted. I did not test this with a voltage meter, I am only judging by the incredibly consistent vapes I was experiencing. Each puff was identical to the last, for hours on end.
Perhaps I got lucky and received one with a well functioning voltage regulator.
I was really able to make my juices come alive with flavor, and I must reiterate: I have never had a vape this good, this consistent! I am very happy.

Tested it with:
Boge 2.0 LR with AVE Hype - Amazing (Luscious clouds of very warm vapor, intense flavor, smooth and strong hit)
Boge 3.0 with CCV Black and Mild - Stupefyingly Good
Boge 3.0 with Top Vapor Candycane - Good
Boge 3.0 with Top Vapor Honeydew and Banana mixed - It even made this taste good, which is surprising
Smoktech 3.0 Dual Coil with AVE Gorilla Juice - Could not get a good vape out of this carto (Something I ordered from Madvapes to test) I got weak vapor production even when I maxed out voltage on the Tube. Throat hit was nonexistent at low voltages, and grew sharp and unpleasant with increased voltage. Not liking these dual coils at the moment.

I bought a couple 2.5 ohm Smoketech DC's too, I'll see if those work any better.

Anyways, I'll share more about my experiences after more vaping! Goodnight all

About Dropping it....Mine has fallen 3 times in a week.

Once my wife bumped my computer table and it fell off and landed on the Ultimate CE2 and the ce2 came apart...But it still works just fine, lava tube too.

The other two times my Great Dane knocked it off my coffee table with her Destruct-o-tail. Landed on the bottom once and the side the other time, I've had no issues with the lavatube. My coffee table is only about 24" tall though. I've stopped leaving it on the coffee table until i finish building it's new stand that matches my coffee table.

Love my lavatube!

Great review and I'm glad you're enjoying it as much as I am. I switched from low resistance to variable voltage and found it to be a much more consistant vaping experience. It's working really well with my standard 510-T atties, even the ones which I thought were dead. High praises for the VV Lavatube.

Pros and cons for me...

Cons:
  1. -plastic end caps make me afraid of dropping it on a hard surface.
  2. -being an outdoorsman, I find it too long for pocketing comfortably when attie and tank are attached.
  3. -renders all of my LR atties useless. (I was aware of this before I bought it, but it still sucks..lol.)
Pros:
  1. -i've been vaping for 6 months, but I've still been using analogs. I've had this for a week and haven't had an analog since I got it.
  2. -price.
  3. -battery life.
  4. -consistancy of the vape
  5. -resurrection of old atties which I thought were dead.
  6. -ease of use
I really, really like this mod which can almost be a con since I'm wanting to buy another for fear of being without it.

I'm glad you all enjoyed the review, and thanks for your comments! I definitely agree with all the additional pros stated so far.

I appreciate the comments you all posted previously too, as they helped me in making my decision to pick up a Lava Tube.

Update: Day 2 with the Lava Tube
Just as good as the first day!
The battery life is very long. I have not had to change a battery all day. At the moment the battery is giving off 3.8 volts.
I have not touched my ego batteries since I received it, as the vapor this unit produces is far superior.
I can see myself using my ego batteries when I'm out and about and need something more pocket friendly, so they wont be completely neglected.

I also tried a Smoktech 2.5 Ohm DC Cartomizer from Mad Vapes:
The results were slightly better than what I got out of the 3 ohm version, but still not a satisfying vape at all.
Little vapor production, somewhat irritating throat hit. The cartomizer gets hot very quickly at high voltages as well.
I'm not sure what these cartomizers are designed for, but apparently not a Lava Tube or a 3.7v ego battery.
So I wouldn't recommend them for the Lava Tube

I feel the same way with LR , I have a couple of LR Vision Stone Tanks (2.0) and some Fluxos (2.4-2.6) and I noticed that because I like a warmer vape , The taste is better with the 2.6-2.8 Fluxos at a higher voltage than the LR at a lower voltage. I seem to have more range and can decide to go higher or lower, just what I noticed.

SO far I had the LT for 5 days and it is Great.
