A good article in the Spectator today which pretty much sums up the attacks on vaping.....
Vapers deserve to be angry - they are under attack - Spectator Blogs

"The last few years have seen an extraordinarily dishonest campaign of misinformation against e-cigarettes that is as bad as anything I have seen from the ‘public health’ lobby. There has been a concerted effort to portray e-cigarettes as a ‘gateway’ to tobacco, despite all the evidence showing that they are a gateway from tobacco. They have been accused of ‘renormalising’ smoking without a scintilla of evidence. Misleading research has led to numerous unfounded scare stories in the press.Newspaper columnists have written ridiculous articles without doing the most basic fact-checking. Senior medics have explicitly told the public that e-cigarettes are no safer than real cigarettes. At the same time, ordinary vapers who never had any intention of becoming campaigners – and, indeed, are not campaigners – have been accused of being shills for e-cigarette and/or tobacco companies for doing no more than trying to put the record straight."

I even have a website called Angry Vaper. :D  Because I AM! Temporarily removed the banner from my sig though, since I'm about 6 wks from my first year smoke-free (THANKS ENTIRELY TO VAPING!), so I wanted to watch the daily countdown. :D

I totally agree that vapers at least "should" be angry, the biggest problem we have in our community and some parts of the industry - is apathy. I'm not talking about the likes of the people in this and other vaping forums, or the you-tubers/reviewers and such, it's the everyday vapers that walk around in their well insulated cocoons, oblivious to these scurrilous attacks and apparently unwilling to get off their well padded posteriors and take some action, any action would help. My wife, for example, would quite happily spend 6 hours wandering round a store (maybe a slight exaggeration, I would have jumped in the car and left long before that) but when we've talked about it and I've asked her about signing up to CASAA, or supporting Totally Wicked's action, simple and easy things, which takes no more than 5 - 10 mins out your day, not interested, she will politely agree with what I'm saying, at least on this subject, get up to make a cup of tea or something and it's gone, short term memory loss I think. Not one local vaper I've spoke to has done a thing to support any of the action groups, which is both sad and very annoying. If all these people joined in the community aspect of vaping, boy would we be a force to be reckoned with.
I've rambled on long enough, catch you later guys and gals

Couldn't agree more.

The list of folks that aren't doing squat is quite disheartening...

Maybe you should post more.
Your ramblings are of some value.

Hopefully anyway.

Great site Andria ! I signed up, and you have some very useful links. Reading about your vaping journey reminds me of my own, but I think you passed me in the fast lane ...

I remember when you were active in the eRoll forum, and always really enjoy your posts here on ECF, you say what is on many minds, with an edge that makes the point ...

If you look carefully at my new avatar, its an image from my recent MRI, which thankfully found remnants of a brain after 43 years in engineering. I think that my "angry lobe" is starting to light up now too ... :D

A lot of what looks and sounds like "news' is actually advertising.
Big Tobacco, like any industry, has an advertising budget.
Smoking is dead; Vaping is the future - (Rip Tripper - he's right)
Big Tobacco's advertising budget is merely being lobbied against the competition - vape.

So if you get angry and want to fight back, point the arrows thataway - Big Tobacco.

That eRoll came in handy a 2nd time, when I was trying to break out of that month-long smoke-break last summer... it's a great way to confuse the addiction cells! :D

My site hasn't seen much updating lately; I always seem to be preoccupied with this forum, or recipes, or mixing, or browsing vape shops online, or that other thing... oh yeah, real life. :D I really ought to write an article about the benefits of rebuilding, and the ease of it, even for those with very modest tastes in vaping -- tootle puffers like me. :D And i should probably post my own recipes, too. If it's not one thing, it's another... :D

I'm a little closer, but I say congrats to the both of us! I didn't think it was possible! Now I'm looking at my smoking in the rear view mirror!

I NEVER thought it would be possible. I even told my husband and my son, thinking that as a smoker I'd surely die before either of them, that before they closed my coffin to slide me into the incinerator, to be sure and put a cigarette between my lips, so I could have a last smoke! About a month or two after I quit, my husband looks at me one day, sitting there vaping, and says, "so I guess we don't need that last cigarette between your lips, since it appears you've ALREADY had your last smoke!" I agreed; yes, I have. :D
