Vapers tongue is a common occurence even for veteran vapers

1) Drink plenty of water and liquids to keep hydrated
2) Change flavors to another flavor, a stronger flavor, or a menthol until your taste buds revive
3) Drink a citric fruit juice like orange or grapefruit juice to help exfoliate your covered new taste buds, or a cinnamon gum or breath mint
4) Try a citric, cucumber and spearmint (surprising but effective, the cucumber somehow cuts through to allow the spearmint to be tasted, have had many cucumber vapes before and they always bring my flavor back after about 1/2 a tank, the spearmint added flavoring is more pleasant than just straight cucumber), or cinnamon type flavored juice to help exfoliate your new covered taste buds.

I have extreme VT. Have had since the second week of vaping, some five months now.

Some days I can't taste the vape at all, others I can but it's very muted. It is rare that I can taste all the flavours.

I have now found that if I vape unflavoured for a day or two, when I go back to flavoured I have no VT and it tastes amazing.

Unfortunately the VT comes back within half a day, but as I don't mind unflavoured it's not such a big deal.

I've got a theory that there is just too much flavour in your average shop bought juice, and this quickly over-loads my taste buds.

I plan to DIY some 5-10% long steeped flavour juices and see if I get flavour longevity (using unflavoured an occasional palate cleanser).

I've been getting vapers tongue on a regular basis for two years. I haven't found anything that helps so far and the only thing that seems to make is worse is drinking water. I know, totally counter intuitive. I still drink lots of water for the hydration but when the vapers tongue is bad I switch to cranberry apple juice that way if I'm still able to taste just a smidge of flavor the juice keeps it that way.

I DIY all my own juice, and I always have a bottle of unflavored juice handy, at the same nic level, 6mg/ml, and VG/PG ratio as my flavored juice. Vaping unflavored juice is great, sometimes, and a nice switch. It actually has more flavor than the name 'unflavored' implies. There is a natural sweetness to the VG.

Another advantage is the unflavoured is completely clear, so wicks and coils last much longer.
