Would consider reining in Local actions.

Is it better to have a few people at the local offices of governing bodies - Mayor/Council - or to Present in the Thousands at the steps of State Capitols?

Major Strikes Trump minor inconveniences. :D
Right, you are. Which is why I have no problems going to Austin. Or D.C., for that matter. That bus would come in handy, though :D

Just waiting for the date, my GF, my sister, and I can be there in an hour.

Let us know if any of the participating organizations will be selling T-Shirts, etc, to raise funds, and so that we can recognize each other out there, a few of you I'd like to meet!

I think you are right, to an extent. But I can also see where having more events might draw more attention. I have to be honest, I'm not sure which route I think is best, but I'm leaning towards including more cities that just the State Capitols if (and only if) enough people could be organized in each location to be worthwhile. Take Indiana for example. I would suggest 3 locations. Indianapolis obviously as the Capitol. But also South Bend (or maybe Fort Wayne?) and Evansville. If you only wind up with 100 or so at each though it might not be very effective.

The more, the better, but the DC event is the one that will make the news, so that's the one that needs the most support. I realize that most cannot get there. DC is part of the heavily populated east coast, with 3 national airports and a decent metro rail system, there's no reason that we can't absolutely swamp DC if the word gets out there effectively.

    Agreed -
    Primarily DC
Secondary - Major Metropolitan Cities for maximum impact and reasonable travel.

Event timing is important for working folks with limited flexibility of scheduling. A day to Devote will attract many. Several days and cost involved will hamper results.

It would be great if we could put 1,000,000 Vaping Supporters( Smokers interested, Vapers, Never smoker/Vapers in our court) on the Mall in DC and even better if a Few thousand more showed up in key cities.

Short notice to get prepared, but 5/10 would be a significant date. I am linking this thread to my regional FB pages.

Please don't tell me it's 5/10, I can pretty much make it any time, but that's not nearly enough time to mobilize full support. I'm thinking July or August, close to the 90 day date in the regs.

Let's not go off half cocked on this. The FDA took 2 years to figure out how to screw us. We have 90 days or two years to counter. If we are gonna do this, let's do it right and give ourselves enough time to do it right.

How about every 90 days, in a different major city. Bringing out the spotlight every time they try to forget. We are a little bigger than the Boston tea party days!

No objection here, but we still need that one big event, the one that shuts down DC for a weekend. The smaller events likely will not make national news. We fill the Mall in DC for a weekend, we're on every news network.

I've been to the DC Mall for big events, it's fantastic, the rail can get us in and out.

Greg Conley pointed out an article on twitter about this topic with the comment "study up". THE most successful protest between the Vietnam war and Occupy was done by ACT UP on the front steps of the FDA offices in NYC, and actually shut down the building for the day. Between the large number of protesters and the careful advance preparations, including handouts for all it's members familiarizing them with the facts and talking points and hundreds of calls to the media, they got the action they wanted.

Salem, I'm PMing you the link so you can decide whether you want to post it in the thread.

Some body needs to organize a major Vape Bash or trade show in DC. That'll bring attention to the March and also encourage more vapors to go to DC. For maximum impact, this needs to be well planned and organized. Better a MASSIVE march than 10 small ones. Remember, it needs to reach the national news. So far, the media coverage has been treating vapors as if we are nothing, something to sacrificed in name of "public health." We need a NRA type of thing going for us.

I think this is exactly what needs to be done. Some signs, and "blowing clouds into the air" is just dumb. Handing out facts, education and truth is what we need to bring to the light.

You need to look at it from a non smoker/vapor s point of veiw, they dont care about clouds or cool mods, they need their eyes opened to the truth.
