I've had vaper's tongue for about 3 weeks and a half. First I was smoking two cigs a day while vaping for a while - something I've read often creates vaper's tongue. Then I got to a point where I suddenly couldn't taste ..... After a week and a half I decided to quit cigarettes altogether. I've been cig free for about two weeks.

To compound my dilemma I went out and baught a Snow Wolf and some highly regarded e liquids thinking that this couldn't go on for much longer.

I'm wondering... have any of you had a bout of VT this long? Should I be alarmed? Any thoughts or recommendations? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there still hope for me? I feel like I've been in this position forever...

Yes I've had vapor's tongue for extended periods.

Vape unflavored or at least dilute your eliquids.

Liquids made to vape at 5 watts can be overload at 30 watts

Ya, a low wattage high ohm PV that wont run so hot. In times past I have cranked it up trying to get back some sense of taste only to singe my tongue. Check out the tootle puffer thread, and do a search for VT in this forum, it been talked about many times. Basically, there are some things you can do, running cooler and vaping non flavored, also vaping a wide range of flavors, maybe some mints/menthol help some people. But above all, it takes some patience and acceptance to just get through it.

well i guess that means running the snow wolf at low wattage, idk if I can contain myself enough to do that (was thinking more like 70 watts but we'll see)

i have an ego one but its running a sub ohm coil right now (.5)

yeah I've read some of the other threads and seen the suggestions, some interesting stuff. I bought and use a nose cleansing liquid because of it - it might not work on VT but my nasal passages feel great lol

patience and acceptance yeah its looking like it, thanks

if a body is exposed to a smell or taste on a constant basis, it shuts down the receptors to that specific "flavor" to compensate and adjust so the senses can operate "normally" for the rest of the smells/tastes... ever walk into a home that has a rather obnoxious odor going on and wonder why the people living there are not bothered by it? and what about the people who work at sewer plants... why arent they gacking all the time? Even when I pass by the plant on one of the main roads ( better than 1/2 mile away) I feel the urge to get sick....

Best to switch between a couple of different flavors at least on a regular basis. I switch flavors every time I change coils. I favor creamy light fruit/ bakery flavors but switch out to a strong citrusy flavor every other coil change. Cool Mints and Menthols will help, as well as lowering your wattage a bit and drinking plenty of fluids. If you want unflavored, and you don't need the nicotine, you can purchase food grade Vegetable Glycerin in the first aid section of your local Walmart. It vapes good on it's own with just a slight sweet taste. It will be a little thick but you could cut some of your regular juices in half and mix some vg into those. It will make your regular juice last longer until you get your taste back.

Go take a big whiff of fresh coffee grounds. Also, cigarette smoke isn't doing you any favors. Every time you light up, you're resetting the healing process of your olfactory senses. It takes time for your body to heal itself. Good luck!

i do the coffee grounds thing daily, its one of the few proposed remedies i mess with

as far as not smoking, i know, it was a big reason i stopped smoking in the first place, i think of the fact it might set me back anytime a cig crosses my mind lol.... i consider the two weeks that i have cig free when the clock for my vt really started. thanks

Oh Dear God that better not be happening to me. I'm glad you got your senses back in working order.
Roll with my man. Unflavored in the end is still better than the smokes. Or so I believe especially when I lay down to sleep and wonder how my wife dealt with laying next to the smell of my stale cigarette body.
