Out of nowhere today my MBV double apple has 0 flavor, and when I exhale through my nose, it practically burns and feels almost like acidic. now this juice was perfect yesterday, and I thought it was the clearo so I tossed that one and loaded up another with the same juice. same lack of taste, same burning sensation.... I can still taste flavors like raszzleberry (muted) and orange (normal taste)

also I got a headache really easily when i vape the stuff.... could it be like a sensory overload or bad juice or just vapors tongue?

opinions?

If you are are using medium or high nicotine, or vaping excessively, your tongue can get sore - similar to the feeling after you burn it with hot chocolate or hot coffee.

But I also had problems with fruit flavors becoming acidic or medicinal tasting after a while. I think if you stop tasting the sweetness it ruins the illusion of the fruit. Besides overuse, a dirty (burnt juice) atomizer or cartomizer can dull or kill the sweetness since burnt=bitter while the same slightly burnt taste may be unnoticeable (or even enhance) a tobacco or non-sweet flavor.

What I do to keep my sweet juice tasting sweet longer is...
1. Be very careful to keep that carto topped off
2. Regularly switch to a new cartomizer for the sweet juice (2 weeks is pushing it - most of the sweet gone by then) and I use good cartomizers.
3. Use 2 ecigs and alternate between vaping a non-sweet mild smoky flavor and the sweet vanilla <- this is the main thing that helped me keep the sweet - having a contrast between the two flavors.

And I am not sure if it helps but I use thinner juices (like 80PG/20VG) to help keep my cartomizers from getting gunked up.

BTW my sweet is a Vanilla - that was what I finally settled on

(BTW all - I haven't been around the forum because I don't have much money right now and can't afford to tempt my shopaholic side. When I last hung around the forum I bought 3 wood mods! I am doing well, still cigarette-free, down to 4-6mg nic juice and still carry 2 slim models KR808D-1 manuals w/ Volt cartomizers and 510 manuals w/ 2.5ohm single coil Smok Tech cartos. I also own a variety of 3.7v big battery models and mods that mostly stay home other than 1 Riva 510 I carry with me.)

I had a similar experience last week. I think it's a combination of multiple things. I agree with what @dormouse was saying. I had no taste of any flavor and sometimes the juices would taste a little acidic. I really want to figure out EXACTLY what this is so if it comes back I can quickly fix it. I noticed it was worse when I would leave certain juices in my tanks and just keep adding liquid. I make a point to actually empty out my tanks now and clean them with HOT water, then fill them back up. Don't just rinse them, really clean them. That helped. Also I switched up what I vape! I don't vaporize really fruity flavors that much anymore. They tend to give me vapors tongue a lot easier then other things. Now I will keep a fruity flavor to vape when I am craving a really harsh/tasty/heavy hit. But when I am just blowing clouds I vape something a little more mellow. Like Prime G2 vapors "Drunk Monkey". This stuff is amazing and NEVER gives me that acidic taste/loss of flavor. Its a banana flavor that is more creamy then fruity. It still has LOTS of TH too so I am in love with it. I also got a Vanilla Creme flavor from J-Juice. The guys that run J-Juice got me started on vaping. So I have to rep them ;) you can get the Vanilla Creme here: J-Juice . It's awesome stuff! More of a mellow/creamy flavor. Find one that you like and use it to switch things up. I really do think it has to do with the flavor or quality of your juice.

Also the last thing I noticed is burning your tongue! IF you have a Protank and you clean it out you will know what I mean. I take the coil and soak it in warm water to get the excess juice off. I normally let it air dry but sometimes when I am in a rush I will throw it in a tank and fill the thing up. When you go to vape that there is still some water in the wicks and I noticed that the coil will make little snaps and pops when it heats up because it is vaporizing the water out of the wick so you can get to the juice. Nothing wrong with this as far as I understand. Lots of people do it. But, I have noticed that every once in a while when it is burning that water out it can shoot some hot water onto my tongue! Those spots get kind of numb for a while. So I am careful to burn any water off before I start puffing on it.

Just a couple of ideas :) Let me know what you find out and what helps it go away for you. Everyone is different. Drink lots of water! :vapor:

Sounds like maybe the onset of a Sinus infection starting up. If you think about it when you have a sinus infection your taste buds become out of whack. Even a cigarette either has no taste, taste like already burnt tobacco or has a sweet taste. I would get on some 500mg Vitamin C taking a double dose to start. Depending on where you live, the weather cant make up its mind whether or not its still summer or fall. I live in Indy and the high today is 73 with a low last night of 51. A lot of reports of colds, Bronchitis and even sinus infections are already starting here.

I agree with this. I think this is part of why cleaning my tanks regularly has helped. Think about all the germs that can collect on/in your tanks/mod. Clean them regularly! :2c:

Thanks for the suggestions, I guess i should have added that I drink around a 3/4 of a gallon of water a day, usually vape 0mg and occasionally 6mg when needed, cleaned that clearo 1ml ago and the other was a new t3.

i usually vape fruit flavors, and go back to menthol when i need nic.

my girlfriend just got a sinus infection a few days ago so theres a chance of that as well.
as far as the headaches go, its random, sometimes I get them when i vape, sometimes I dont. even using the same juice. all at 65PG/35VG

I went through something similar about 10 days after switching to vaping - complete loss of flavour. It passed after a couple of days and thankfully hasn't happened again since. From what I've read, it's a fairly common occurrence and will probably resolve itself fairly quickly. Good luck.

P.S. I really hope it's not a sinus infection :)

i get this wierd sensation if i get fixated on any juice for too long... first one this happened with was MVB Blue Moo but it has happened with other flavors too, other fruits and also non-fruits... i will eventually get this mildly painful sensation, mostly in the back of my throat and nasal passages. as if certain flavors affect different areas of the throat, and by overdoing it i am just making those areas extremely tired.

i almost cant vape Blue Moo anymore, it's been like 2 months, the muscle memory remains.
