I just tried an innovative product called Vapin Donuts from Fatdaddyvapes.com.

I bought the 6 pack and set up 2 of them up as a dual coil on my Reomizer 2 with Cotton. The Ohms on a Dual Coil was .31

The Good:
Convenience- No wrapping coils, really a snapt to set up.
If you like a vape that takes a while to get started then these will be your cup of tea, it takes a while for the Ceramic to heat up.
I like that.

The Bad:
I would have preferred lower Ohms. The Vape just doesn't feel hot enough.
The flavor is muted. *
*One anomaly, I'm finding that when I drip, the flavor is better. So is it possible that when I'm dripping, the liquid is vaporizing directly from the ceramic instead of the cotton and that's why better flavor.

Makes Me Wonder:
What I've been wondering about is that theoretically heat is heat. And if the ceramic get's hot enough to vaporize the liquid on the cotton, then the lquid should taste the same. So why the muted taste. Is it possible that when I'm vaping on Kanthal that the metal is flavoring my vape and adding to the flavor. Is this product more healthful because I'm not getting vaporized metal mixed into my vape.?

Also why is it more flavorful to drip as opposed to bottom feeding. When I drip is the liquid vaporizing off of the ceramic, thus better flavor.

Opinions welcome.

If you really wanna know, I think Rip Trippers did a review on these and basically came to the same conclusions, and explained his theories rather in depth, but to answer your questions...

You said yourself; "The Vape just doesn't feel hot enough". More heat = more flavor, hence why smaller air holes and smaller chambers give more flavorful vapes. Also, from what I've seen on youtube, the donuts heat up slower... So you're probably getting less vapor as well and also less juice actually vaporized, both of which would cause less flavor. There's also the surface area thing, gotta figure it's a large relatively flat surface rather than coils (much more texture) so the juice probably keeps it cooler than an equivalent Ω Kanthal coil, causing even longer heat up times.

Ofc, I've never used them personally to observe and report so this is all just theory from what I've seen/read in other places :)

I have to retract the post above. After a week I'm really loving it.

Turns out that I needed to construct it all a different way. I'm using the Lowest Resistance Donut they have and getting .31 Ohm
on a dual coil setup.
1. Use very little cotton just running down the back in a U on my bottom feeder
2. Big Airholes Drilled right across from the center of the Donut.

I'm getting a great vape. Turned out that too much cotton initially worked like a heat sync.

Picture 1 is my failure
Picture 2 was a success
Picture 3 demonstrates the size of the holes.

Update- I spoke with the manufacturer and he suggested that I filll the back with cotton. I tried it and the flavor increased. Like anything else you have to get used to it. After a week, I really like it. Not sure if the Donut or the Cotton gets broken in.

Also I figured out that if I paused a second before inhaling or during the inhale I can increase the hotness of the vape.

Final: Cotton is very loosely packed
