I've been on blood thinners for well over 20 years. Last time my PT was checked, about a week ago my number was kind of high at 3.69, meaning too thin, a result I assume, from quitting smoking. Preferred number range from 2 to 3. My last visit, 6 weeks prior, was in range.

So, I'm wondering if there's anyone else on blood thinners that have experienced the same or for that matter, a change in their numbers one way or another, after totally quitting the analog cigs.

How long have you vaped? I've been on blood thinners (Warfarin) for about five years, and there weren't any considerable changes when I quit smoking/started waping. I've had some periods before when I've managed to stay of cigarettes for a month or two and no major variations then either. What medication are you on (if I may ask)?

Interesting. Never gave it thought, but when I had my PT checked a week ago, it was slightly higher than normal. At that time, I had been vaping for about 3 weeks prior. I have another test coming up near the end of the month, at which time I will have been vaping nearly two months. Something to look at, anyway. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I'd wager that it has more to due with you eating less, though I can't make any sort of qualified comment on that. I myself have had the most drastic changes in my values by for example having happened to have more greens in my diet in certain periods.

On another note, being a metalhead it's increadibly cool that I'm eating rat poison. Makes me more metal than the other metalheads \m/ :)

I've been on thinners for about two years due to blood clots and a subsequent pulmonary embolism (due to malpractice and gross negligence during an unrelated hospitalization but that's irrelevant).

I did have a large spike in my INR about a month after I started vaping gave up analogs for good. Jumped almost a point and a half. Doctor adjusted my warfarin dose and I've been fine since.

Be careful out there!
