Unless your downwind from the deer the smell of the juice might spook them. I know some hunters who refuse to wash their hunting clothes partially for this reason and also because laundry detergent can cause camo to glow in a deers site

This is exactly what I was asking about, what the DEER actually think of the different juices. Seems nobody has any firsthand experience seeing deers reactions to different vape flavors...

I have to disagree with you flintlock. You can get away with alot with a gun in your hand, but try smoking a cigarette while bowhunting and see how many deer get downwind of you and stick around. I've been doing this for a long time too. No, you can't cover up EVERYTHING, but you CAN reduce the scents you give off to low enough levels where it doesn't matter. This is what Scent Lok is for. We have scent eliminating soaps and shampoos, sprays for boots and things. I sure wish I had stupid deer by me! Santa Claus is down in the middle of nowhere, while I'm up here with TONS more people and pressure. They DO associate unnatural smells with people, there's nobody in the hunting industry who would refute that. As Bill Winke likes to point out, you'll never see the ones that DO smell you. Either way, we're off the initial topic of what I was asking....

Did you read my post on where I shot a deer bow hunting from 20 yards, while smoking. I'm not going to argue the point any longer, it's fruitless.

Well this buck's reaction was to become ground up and in the freezer. I can ask them what they're vaping when they get home, they're still out in their tree stands.

I hunt on Long Island and it's very "suburban" hunting. The biggest piece of private land I hunt is 5 acres. The feeding areas are the lawns of the houses that surround the area. The deer are VERY used to people and scent.

I used to smoke in the stand and saw deer consistently. I now vape in the stand and see the same amount of deer. I think it really depends on the area you are hunting in. If they are used to human scent then nothing will bother them. If you're deep in the woods, you might have a problem.

BTW I had my Ego in my hand on opening day and while I was dripping a 125 pound monster doe walked in. She got 30 yards out and I put the Muzzy where it hurts.

Good luck this season! It should start getting hot very soon!

Alright I just now remembered to ask.

Papa was swapping between a seven leaf and a desert ship, brother in law was using seven leaf.

They stated that they could discern no reaction from their quarry; but I don't notice a lingering fragrance from their vapor the way i do with mine (I vape fruit mostly)

Hope this helps, OP.

Hunting from a tree stand is quite different than hunting from a ground level blind or stalking with a completly different set of things that you can or can't get away with.

Thank you. This was exactly what I was getting at. As an update, I shot my biggest buck ever Monday afternoon while vaping Pineapple Pulp. This deer was upwind of me the whole time so it has nothing to do with vaping, but I thought I would still share the picture. I had a small buck come in directly downwind from me and linger around for 15 minutes and he didn't even seem to notice I was trying to blow pineapple in his face. The scent may have been blowing over his head though. He was about 30 yards away from me. The buck in the picture was scored at 156 & 1/4". I'm just a little MORE than happy right now!

So last saturday I put an arrow through a doe that I unfortunatly never found ( I hate when that happens, spent severals hours looking for her). Anyway, I was vaping NLV Gold and she came within 20 yards of me. The above posters are correct about deer having a great sense of smell as well as being curious.

Yes I have smoked in my stand and vaped in my stand with success. That being said, I also eat grapes, apercots and other sweet fruits while I hunt, add the smell of coffee, hot coco, pepsi, salami and whaterver else I may have on hand at any given time and it is a symphony of odors. Just from my experience I find that sound and movement spook deer more than smell.

Just my humble opinion of couse.

Take it easy-n-at,

Jeff

ETA: Nice buck Ronski, congratulations are in order for that monster.

Holy CRAP. I call Photoshop :) JK.

For anyone that isn't on the Outdoor Channel, that's a deer of a lifetime. Great job.
