I've heard that this is where most folks end up smoking a cigarette for the first time after getting into vaping. I don't know, I'm sort of a non-partying mom-type and just had a couple of glasses of wine at the local Olive Garden. I wanted to get home and hit my PV more than normally during the day and maybe if I'd had a couple more glasses of wine I would've wanted an analog, but I'm vaping away happily now, so....

Throat hit should be the same--but instant satisfaction? I don't think so. I've found the 'satisfaction' of vaping, as far as nicotine is concerned, to be a little slower than smoking an analog. Nothing delivers nicotine quicker to the brain than a tobacco cigarette. But flavor satisfaction is another thing entirely. Analogs taste, well, like smoke...
Vaping is delicious with the right flavor! I spent the other night out with some friends enjoying some food and several bottles of red wine. Vaping complemented the evening very well--much better than cigarettes ever did, imo.
And the best thing was, the next morning's hangover was not compounded by the toxic mess of analogs. Ever notice how much more you smoke when drinking? Ever notice how much worse the hangover is when you drink too much? (and of course smoke more) Vaping doesn't do that to me--eat, drink, vape, and be merry!:D

I find it isn't exactly the same, but I have a small bottle of "extra high" nic I take to the bar that helps. You get a good nic rush, but not quite the same as a 4000+ chemical hit of analogs. I've learned to live with it, with time I find it's working for me.

Side note, good to see you're representing the sn95 mustangs ;) I've got a 94 drop top 5.0, hope your 4.6 is treating you well!

This was the scariest part for me when i started vaping. I started to panic the first time i drank with it. Just make sure to vape something with strong TH (I prefer Atomic Cinnacide or Spiced Rum from Tasty Vapor).

And do it like crazy until you don't crave an analog. Best of luck!

I just turned 21 a few months ago, and i love to drink and smoke at the same time. Will the e-cig give me the same effect while drinking like a real cigarette? The throat hit and instant satisfaction?

Posted this somewhere else too but i've been drinking twice now since I started vaping, and i KNEW that there was no better test for satisfaction than the "while drinking" test. I was at a bar and then another night at a hockey game. Both times, when I took that first drag after drinking, I was satisfied. I had real cigs with me cuz I did NOT expect vaping to work, but it did. Now, I have also posted another issue about the typical cig 'buzz" being missing, so this sounds sort of contradictory (ie i'm saying i miss the buzz, but i'm also saying that it passes the drunk test); the reason, I believe, is that the alcohol slightly dulls the senses just enough to make the vaping experience truly match your smoking expectations. I dunno; theory. But it worked! Beer and my 4081, two nights (actually 3 but i wasn't out that long that night) was suitable and enjoyable while drinking. If in doubt, carry a pack of analogs along... no harm no foul.

I haven't heavily dosed on alcohol in the past three years. But, I usually do have a few beers after work, sometimes some wine. It hasn't made me crave a cigarette (there's a pack within reach as I type).

I haven't "gone out" to a bar since I started vaping. But, I'm looking forward to my next outing, with my PVs in pocket. :)

The bar scene has been the downfall of many failed quit attempts, including one of mine some decade or so ago. If I had a PV then, I am certain things would've turned out differently.
