I see this posted a lot, but I'm remembering mixed information. I'm going to be flying from Indiana to Vegas soon and have some questions about what to do with m y vaping stuff. Do I need to label it ("THIS IS NOT A BOMB - THIS IS AN ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE!") or anything or is it usually pretty good? I had planned on bringing a few tube mods, about 10 bottles of juice and around 10 atties + lots of batteries and a charger.

Do I put it in my carry on? CAN I put it in there? I also remember hearing something about people vaping in the bathroom if they absolutely couldn't wait.

Ummm... Don't label it like that. As George Carlin taught us, the TSA doesn't appreciate jokes. That said, e-cigs are just like anything else. They're not banned on planes, and the liquids are covered by the same TSA guidelines regarding all liquids. Keep the bottles small, closed, and in a 1-quart ziploc back. I haven't heard of anyone having a problem.

Naturally I wouldn't actually label it as that.

Do I put it in my carry on though? Or at least my Saber touch which is the only one I don't like being out of my sight?

I fly a lot, never had problems keeping my stuff in my carry on. But I never had more than 1 30ml bottle on me, 10 might be stretching it but if they are within the 3once limit it shouldnt be a problem.

Just beware if you have any filled up clearos, they will leak A WHOLE LOT because of cabin pressure change.

Everything should go in your carry on. Liquids in the ziplock bag, chargers and batteries in your carry on luggage. If you have your PV with you ready to vape, just place it in plain sight in one of the bins along with your shoes. The TSA know what these are. I have flown MANY times and I lay my Prothingy, with the larger Vivi Nova filled, on top of my purse. No problems. Have a great flight :)

Actually, they are not allowed to be used on an airplane (by the Airlines...not the TSA). Nobody wants to smell your Banana Nutbread e-juice anyway :).

That said, I fly frequently and have had no trouble with the TSA or anyone else taking my gear through security. In fact, I recently traveled from Detroit to Tampa with ALL of my equipment (minus the e-juice which I checked except for one bottle) and the only comments I got from TSA were, "Dude...that's a lot of metal" and "If I may ask...what the heck is this?"

As for vaping in the airport itself it's hit or miss. Every airport has it's own policy. You can ask a customer rep if you like but I believe as long as you're discreet you won't have any problems. However, if someone asks you not to...just head for the restroom and find an unoccupied stall.

But if you must vape and fly I recommend this airline:

Thanks, a little nervous. Not flown in a few years and now I have this habit and whatnot.

I exclusively vape unflavored when not at home to not cause any unpleasant smells =)

One of you said something about a three ounce limit? What's that? I've not heard this? I've not flown since before 9/11.

No bottle containing liquid or gel can be bigger than 3 ounces. Here's what I found on traveltips.com:

The 3-1-1 rule limits the amount of liquid you can bring on an airplane in your carry-on luggage. Passengers are limited to using containers no larger than 3.4 oz. for their liquids. All containers of liquid which must be placed in a 1 qt., transparent, plastic, sealable bag. Each passenger may have only one bag for liquids. Passengers can bring on as many 3.4-oz. containers as they can fit in the quart-sized bag when it is sealed.

Lots of threads around here on this subject. Yes no more than 3 oz with carryon, check the rest of the liquid. Yes double bag the liquid, leave room for pressure changes so you won't have juice leaking everywhere, and relax. Had no problems with TSA except one agent
asked me if those were electronic cigarettes. It's not illegal. You can't vape on a plane, what you do in their bathroom is up to you. I'd leave juice in marked bottles.

I pack most of my supplies in checked baggage, and only bring enough for 1 day in my carry on. As for vaping on the plane; that's a tough question as on some flights I've done it no problem and on others it was a no go. I do find that the higher PG juices without as much vapor usually get by without anyone noticing. My general rule is that if the plane is packed I don't try unless it's a night flight. YMMV good luck!

Bah. I fly enough I haven't even been taking the full nova off my provari lately. No issues sitting next to my shoes and phones.

The spare zmax with no tank in the laptop bag is the only attention I get lately.

lol...I didn't even empty my drip cans or tanks the last time through. They didn't even open my bag.

So cliffnotes, let me make sure this is all right:
Carry-on: 1-2 mods is okay (probably my cheap k100 that I use as my "anywhere" mod that I don't mind if it gets dropped etc and my saber touch in a protective case)
2 batteries for k100 and 4 batteries for saber touch
about 3-4 30ml bottles of juice
2 zip cases

Rest goes into luggage.

Will this all do?

battery charger IN your carry on. God forbid they lose your luggage.
