I'm going to be flying for the first time in my life the middle of September. Wife and I are going to California for the birth of the child we're adopting.

I know I can't vape while on the plane but I want to have it in my carry on so I can use it ASAP. What would be the best way to carry my gear in the carry on?

I have a Vamo v2, Vivi Nova tank, 2x 18650 batteries, 2x 18350 batteries, and a couple bottles of juice. I plan on getting a little zipper case that a local vapor shop sells to store the vamo, tank and batts in but not sure how I should store the juice.

Also, what kind of reaction should I expect from the TSA towards my Vamo?

I had a ego twist and a few tanks plus a few 15 ml bottles in a little bag. My hubby had a MVP with tanks and liquids in a little bag. Placed both in a plastic bin and...they took it all! JK it went through and we vaped in the airport anywhere and no issues. No worries. We went through 2 MAJOR airports both ways. No issues at ALL.

NO issues with the TSA. If all of your juice and tanks are with you in carry-on, you shouldn't have to worry about leaks. I put mine in a Pelican case with a pressure equalization valve, just in case, though. Put the liquids in a ziplock bag and place them in the bin when going through security. I do the same with my electronics, but that is not always necessary.

Just a quick addition for anyone searching before flying (like I did)

No problems through security; however I waited until going through the liquids check before filling my tank.

The lil mama tank held up fine on the flight there and back. I added new o rings before just to ensure a tight seal. I got maybe 2-3 drops of liquid in the top of the ecig due to the pressure on the way there; however this was easy to clean with some tissue. No leaks at all on the way back.

I would recommend a tank on the plane for stealth vaping, as dripping a cart on a mod can look suspicious on a plane!

Thanks

I believe you can only carry 100 ML of liquid and they actually make you carry your Batteries in your carryon something about them exploding or something. Anyway Bag of liquids everything else out where they can see it easily. I took a Vamo an Evic and An MVP with me and not a problem... But they had to look at my PS3 twice.....

All batteries must be carried on the plane. Regulations do not allow them in the cargo hold. If you gate check a larger carry on, make sure you transfer your batteries into a smaller carry on you are keeping with you.

Ejuice must meet the 3-1-1 rule. Container size must be 3 oz or less, regardless of how much liquid it contains. You are allowed 1 clear zip lock bag, no larger than 1 quart size.

Your mods and batteries may sail right through, but sometimes they can get flagged, so put them near the outside of your baggage. You can also remove them and send through separately, but it is not required.

Tanks, evods, clearos may leak a little or a lot due to pressure change on the plane. I always make sure they are empty to limit any mess. I've had a full 1.5 ml of juice leak from an Evod while flying.

I fly a couple times a month, and rarely have problems other than mentioned above.

Sent from somewhere on planet Earth.

I got my ego kit on a trip to California earlier this year but did not bring it back to Canada with me (was worried about the legal issues and having it seized). I actually asked a TSA supervisor what to do about bringing it through security and hit someone fairly knowledgeable. He said to take the battery part out with cell phone etc and that any liquid bottles should be in the overall ziplock bag any liquids in general should be in. He said that any bottles must be clearly labeled for both volume and contents. He suggested not bringing more than one bottle of liquid in carry on but NOT to check batteries and to make sure there is no liquid in the device when boarding plane.

I'm not sure about other airlines but Air Canada specifically says to bring e-cigarettes on board but they cannot be taken out during flight.

I would recommend NOT vaping on planes as it is forbidden, and all that will do if enough vapers are non-compliant with FAA rules is make the enforcement and rules for carrying in airports and planes more strict.

Advice like this is not at all beneficial to vapers, or to our cause.

This is the age-old thing that happens to privileges.......the people who abuse them are the ones who end up making it hard on other people and then the privileges disappear.
