School aged children should have already been Home educated enough to know right from wrong and what they are allowed to touch or never tough.

I Safe store all my Nic/Flavoring/PG-VG of large quantities. I have 3 grandchildren in the home and all are very well versed in what vaping is and why I, my Wife and my youngest daughter vape.

There is often smaller bottles of mixed e-liquid around for refilling.

They are happy there is no longer smoking on the main floor of the home where they normally reside.(Their smoking parents live below)
Though they have an occasional question, usually smell related, they never attempt to touch anything Vape related.

Each family must make their own choices.
Hopefully they will be wise choices.
    Education is important.

And that's the problem the OP faces with an adopted child from foster care. many of them were not taught anything about right & wrong.

Haha when I was growing up, I was responsible for retrieving cigs, fresh lighters and alcohol for my parents. This is probably why I don't know how far to take the locking up/hiding thing. Nothing was ever locked up or out of reach when I was a kid.

I used to go to the store to BUY Smokes for parents and grand parents and then self, as a kid.

I don't take the locking things up that seriously.... I do after all have an UNLOCKED gun case with several loaded weapons in it, Many power tools and other hazards all over the house.

My kids and Grand Kids KNOW those things they can and can NOT touch.

So yeah, Vape gear smoking supplies and the like are pretty low priority.. Nic being the only real dangerous thing does get special treatment, such as would the can of Black Flag.

    So True...........
Also so true of many regular famalies today. Pressures of 2 working parents or a single parent attempting to make ends meet over a few generations has lead to a situation of self learning and children raising children.

Hey, one of my friends has a daughter with Prader Willy syndrome. She has to have a refrigerator lock, a locked pantry for dry goods and keep the garbage locked up. People who have PW have an uncontrollable urge to eat, and even good parents can't supervise every moment. Children can get up during the night. You could be in the bathroom, or just distracted by the phone or someone at the door. I don't think there's anything wrong with securing anything potentially dangerous. I sure wouldn't leave a gun sitting out no matter how vigilent I am. And I wouldn't with nicotine either.

If kids really want it, they will get it no matter how hard you try. locks would help until they find the keys.
I would have to go keyless. We had to get a combination code lock for the front door because my wife can't keep from locking herself out!
I just put my stuff in the gun vault. Top shelf = vape supplies. 2nd shelf = knives. Long guns on the rack. Pistols on the floor in pistol cases.
That would be ideal except I don't have guns. But maybe I should just solve the problem by getting the prettiest vault I can find that's big enough for the mini fridge and liquor and make a show of how important keeping out of poisons. Man if a thief broke into that thing, how disappointed would they be!
