Anything mankind touches gets corrupted. The Bible has been written and rewritten by man for 4000 + years. Mankind has a tendency to write thing to benefit himself or his group. Just human nature. The truth is in the Bible but, what did they leave out or slightly change. Live and let live and be kind to one another is what we need to do.

I know I will get attacked but I am going to ignore you, so save your fingers.

Well im not sure if you read my posts but i wouldnt attack you i thought i made that pretty clear. I agree with you 100% about the live and let live and the books i have based my beliefs on are no more important than the ones you choose to base your beliefs upon.

My problem isnt the beliefs its the way in which peoples beliefs are warped into fear just to get them to pay thier tithing (in the mormon church if you dont pay your tithe then your more or less a horrible person.......at least the mormon churches i attended) or follow whatever other rediuclous rules any given church has decided to make up.

I just want those who wanted to blast me know I did not care and would not answer.

We are pretty close to agreement. I believe you should do thing because you want to (tithing etc.) not out of fear, wanting someting in return or any other reason. When a person dose something for any other reason it takes away the pleasure of giving and makes it a false gift. You can't buy salvation.

God didnt write the bible

Man wrote the bible.

I follow God

Not Man.

Not sure if your joking here, but....

God didnt write the bible (which is about god)

Man wrote the bible (which is about god)

You follow god (which man invented when he wrote the bible)

Not man (which is who wrote the bible about the god you follow)

Sooo... great little saying, but very circular and somewhat confusing.

With all due respect, what do you think the christian religion was founded on? The answere is fear. Everything a christian does is, by default, done out of fear as well as wanting something in return... gods good graces.
You must fear hell and eternal damnation first. Once you've been scared into believing that concept, you work towards eternal salvation. Which is bought and paid for every time you drop a penny into that tithing plate.

Pete, you are obviously welcome to your own opinions about things, but I just wish you would stop stating them as if they are FACT! Hell, I find myself cringing sometimes even when I agree with you! LOL!

I wanted booze and cigarettes and boys. Now, I only want booze.
{I am still laughing at the thought of you making "shapes on the dance floor"...has me gigglin for days!}
I think they let the teens go to prove a point and nothing more. Its not admirable.

Hi Angela,
Im not really sure how to reply to you here, but if you wish for me to stop stating things as fact, of which Im not sure which statements you are refering to, but if it is a fact... how else should I state it?
I know your arent picking a fight, and by all means, please understand neither am I. But the foundation of christianity is indeed fear. This is provable, and documented.
I dont know why you cring... I have just that effect I guess. :D

So how can you know if its the truth?

Live and let live and be kind to one another is what we need to do.

Does one need religion to follow this sentement? I certainly dont.

I know I will get attacked but I am going to ignore you, so save your fingers.

I dont personally think I attack anyone. I may ask someone to back up their convictions or statements, which a person can contrue as an attack. But that usually only happens when they can back themselves up. ;)

Ok pete we definitely share allot of similar viewpoints but don't tear down someones beliefs because their not your own people just stating their views aren't necessarily attacking your own cant discussions like this remain civil without going at each others throats?
