vaping and the flu

I have a nasty flu right now and I feel like crap. I really want to vape instead of smoke but the vapor is to heavy for my sick self right now and it feels like a brick tot he lungs, so i'm smoking nasty ciggs about a 1/4 at a time to get some nicotine in me. I'm curious as to what full time vapors do when they have the flu or are sick.

I've never smoked or vaped when I'm that sick.

I have nic lozenges and patches in my dresser drawer for weird situations though, and they do work good.

Sure beats putting *anything* into ailing lungs when you have a respiratory infection. I truly do not believe that inhaling anything extra would be considered "good" for my lungs when they are fighting infection.

Hope you feel better soon.

I was trying to think what I've done with regard to vaping while really ill when it hit me..... I HAVEN'T been really ill since I quit smoking and switched to vaping. This is now the second winter as a vaper and while I've had a minor cold last winter, it's nothing as compared to what used to happen to me every winter.

However, I've found covering my chest with a damp cloth and a heating pad over it used to help immensely to get things moving in my chest an lungs.

Awww, hope you get to feeling better soon. Hold it in you mouth and slowly blow it out your nose. Absorbs faster through the nasal cavities. You may find this is enough to get your nicotine and not have to resort to smoking.

Feel better. :)

Wow! Thank you all for the get well wishes... I'll try the mouth hits for sure if I still can't I'll just suck it up and try to not smoke until I feel better. Thanks to vaping in still only smoking a pack every 3-4 days so that's huge progress... Eventually I'll quit smoking, hopefully when I get the right setup for me. Thanks guys!

Hello Munnin42, I'm new to vaping- and now getting sick -_- With anything cold/flu related, we lose flavor but I'm curious how much I should expect to lose. Any pointers or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

that is so individual.

If I'm not real sick I will just vape some minty stuff. You can usually taste that. :)

With my limited experiences in vaping, the local shop suggested this black label "what are melons" (which is really good). I haven't lost that much taste so far but its difficult to distinguish the "new vapor" flavor loss vs the having a cold flavor loss. I figure I'll ride this thing out and report back. Hopefully things get better soon. I forgot to mention this earlier - Munnin42, get well soon!
