I'm surprised I've never shared this here, since it is rather amusing.

I was at a 7-11, sitting in my car with my much needed Slurpee. I was vaping Peach, just relaxing and vaping away. My window was cracked open just a sliver, for a bit of fresh air. I guess I was vaping a lot, or the amount of vapor just seems like a lot to unaware observers. :vapor: Suddenly, a cop knocked on my window. He said, "Excuse me, Miss, I'm not pulling you over or anything, but you have a suspicious amount of smoke in your car, and I wanted to make sure what it was." Then he smelled the vapor that was pouring out and he then asked right after and said, "Why does that smell like Peach?" The next half-hour was spent talking to him about my 510s, and I wrote down a few websites to check it out, and he even tried it! He really seemed to like it, so I hope it helped him out, since he's a smoker. :vapor: That was definitely a surprise for the day!

Has anyone else dealt with cops and vaping? I'm lucky it was a good cop situation and not a bad one!

We do need to educate people and police are people we really want to be educated. For those that feel inclined. Don't be stupid and cop an attitude either. Police are curious people. In fact, it's practically in their job description. Just politely explain what it is. A lot of LEOs smoke. They will probably be quite interested. You'll probably have an enjoyable conversation.

I have never had a police officer question me about my pv, but I have learned one thing when dealing with police in any situation... be respectful, even if they have done nothing to earn your respect. They can find reasons to make your life miserable if they don't like your attitude, and they also carry guns.
I did not learn that from first hand experience, but I learned it from being friends with many police through out my life.

I was walking down the street and a cop drove past as I was vaping. I had a silver kr808 that I was using and then the cop did a quick uturn and pulled up next to me. He jumped out of the car and asked son are you smoking .........? Obviously I said no and he started to inspect my ecig. He had heard of them but only on the radio. I explained to him what they were and he thought they were pretty cool. Even asked me if he thought we could get his sister to quit! It was a funny experience!

I've been stopped by the police when I was vaping on my way to work. It wasn't a great experience. They were pretty adamant I was doing something illegal and interrogated me for a good 15 minutes and took my details. I was so sure they were going to confiscate my egoT, but they gave it back and made me take it apart and explain how it worked. They seemed totally disinterested with any explanation I gave them but I did my best to explain that it's nicotine, isn't meant to look like a cigarette, it's "better" for me and passers by and all that other good stuff. It made me really nervous about using it outside. How many people think I'm doing something illegal and try to get me reported?

Then I thought to myself, it is legal and I don't really care what people think. If the police hadn't been so aggressive I don't think it would have phased me at all.

I have no dark past. I have been a boring straight arrow kind of person all my life. I have done a few things wrong, but nothing more than any kid growing up in the 60s wouldn't have done.

I got pulled over driving 95 on the highway. I had my reo with me which does look quite unusual. When he came to my window I pulled out the reo to get a conversation started and avoid the question "why were you going that fast" but of course he asked me that question first. After I explained him that I was late for class which of course I was not he immediately asked what the "thing" was in my hand and I told him its a personal vaporizer or e-cig. He asked if it helps me to quit cigs and I said yes. He went back to his car checked my German driver license came and said drive save.

8 times pulled over with 30 over the speed limit= 1 ticket gotta love a German driver license.

When I was younger I actually thought that the police were there to protect us from the bad guys.... hah!
They have become a bunch of babysitters there to wonder what we are up to and to enhance revenue. Just the fact that we have to concern ourselves about what they will think if they see us when we aren't doing anything wrong is an indication of how far things have deteriorated.
But it is safer for them to bother me, a senior citizen, about my seatbelt than it is to actually go after a real criminal.

Only had one incident wile using my Xhailer. Guess he though I was using drugs. That was in Asbury Park, NJ . But it was his comment to me that set the situation to going bad. See I have a condition that involves my eye's. His remark to me was " your eye's look funny, what are you smoking, crack ?" My reply to him was" No, only crack I do has hair around it. Your eye's look glazed. What are you on , Donuts ? " That didn't go over so well. I got arrested. It helps to know some people on the force tho. Because I was out with in the hour. What could they charge me with ? Wise ... Remark to an offensive question ? New Jersey is getting there but we are not quite there yet. Besides, The National Vapors Club offer information to any police force about PV's, there use ,as well as how they can be used and can not. Free of charge. Just contact them if you are consurned.

I was vaping on the N train in New York. I didn't even realize it but we pulled into queens plaza at 9pm and it was empty. The train was waiting for the signal for a while and i was vaping away. apparently plumes of vapor were poring out of the train car. A cop walks up to the door of the train and says, "Hey!"...so i said "Hey." He goes, "What the ...... are you doing?" I said, "Oh...oh! you mean my e cig! It's just water vapor!" He pulled me off the train and started asking me questions. I thought it was gonna be a problem. I took it apart to show him how it worked, showed him a bottle of e liquid and he says, "Blow it in my face." I said, "are you sure?". He says, "BLOW IT IN MY FACE!" so I did. He says, "mmm smells good. Just wanted to make sure it isn't pot. Where can I get one?" Gotta love it :p
