I vape around my grandkids. I blow it away from them, not in their face. I wouldn't do it in a small, unventilated room, but I have done it in the car with the window opened a few inches.

They are old enough and smart enough that they are happy that grandma isn't smoking cigs anymore. They also say my vapor smells a lot better.

There are no kids in my life, but I would vape around them, if there were. I don't "fill a room with vapor" with 84% PG. I smoked around my son, though I started taking it outdoors when he was 9, and showed clear signs that the SHS was causing him problems, though I did smoke in the car, with the window open.

There is nothing harmful in "2nd hand vapor" that isn't already present in ambient air. And not doing it in front of your kids is not going to prevent them from learning about it; if you treat it as something shameful, that'll make them all the more interested in doing it themselves, while also losing respect for you, because of the fact that you "do something shameful."

I try to avoid vaping around my daughter. I don't vape with her in the same room at home, but I will open the windows and vape with her in my car on long drives. I'm not pulling over on the drive between Dallas a Houston just to have a couple of puffs without my daughter being around it. She's 13, so it's not as if I'm vaping around an infant, but I do try to limit her exposure to it as much as possible. Especially since she seems REALLY interested in what it tastes like as I tend to use mints and vanilla flavors which she can smell and identify.

I never vape around other people's kids. They aren't my kids, I feel I don't have the right to make that choice for them.

I am curious about if anyone vape around your kids? I vape in the house, but not when my kid is there, not because I think it is harmful, but never smoked in front of him when I smoked either. If you don't, is it for a similar reason? Or because you think it migh be harmful?

I didn't smoke around my kids and I don't vape around my kids. They have no idea that I vape, just that I quit smoking over two years ago. It's really easy for me to go into another room and take a few puffs - it was a lot harder to sneak outside for a cigarette. I don't necessarily think it will be harmful to their health, I just don't want to indirectly encourage them to become a nicotine addict like me.

I try not to vape around my 16 month old monster:) if I can help it. I will stand at the back door and blow my clouds outside when he is awake. If he is asleep in another room I will turn the AC fan on and open outside doors to ventilate properly and vape away. My fiance will puff her tootle in the same room as him but always directs it away from him. We definitely don't want to subject him to our clouds and puffs so we normally hold off on our vape sessions until he is sleeping. We'll sneak in a puff or three when he's awake.

I don't have kids myself so maybe a different perspective as a parent? But when I go anywhere around anyone with kids I either ask if I can step outside (like smoking a cig) or just wait til I'm heading home and crack a window to do it. I dont know if its harmful to them or not, but personally around younger kids I tend to treat my vape like a cig so they either not aware of it when theyre young or they don't want to be around it.

Sometimes I cringe when I see a topic of a thread like this because it often ends with 2 groups standing firm in their beliefs. But, not so nicely.

I guess that's life...
I know. That's why I'm late, I was making popcorn. :pop:But this forum is a lot more respectful than Facebook thankfully

I am an old bird I would vape around anyone unless they objected BUT what I am most curious about is the age group of those who don't or wouldn't. I suspect there is a dividing line regarding age.
I believe I was about 35 years old before society became inundated with the evils of tobacco smoke I honestly can tell you I never even gave it a thought in fact when I first started nursing in 1983 the nurses who smoked were doing so in the report room . I was a non smoker for about five years from age 28 to 33 prior to that I smoked pad from age 18 to 28. I quit for those five years not because I even remotely thought it was harmful in any way but because it was costly, the taxation rose outrageously, and I was quite involved in a church where few people smoked. Truthfully it was a tough five year quit, I had panic attacks, gained 40 lbs, always bummed one if a smoker came to visit, fully started back puffing full steam ahead after my first patient died in 1983 and never gave the idea of quitting another thought.

In fact I was an ardent supporter of using tobacco- I smoked a pack a day or better if stressed and only gave it up by accident this year, never even really intended to do so -best and easiest thing I have ever done. I much prefer the vape if I liked tobacco more I would go back in a heart beat BUT I simple do not. The last cigarette I smoked was horrible and disgusting I couldn't even finish it, I didn't like the taste nor the smell nor the cost.
So my question to those who would not did you grow up with smokes locked behind closed doors and unavailable to minors etc because I really wonder if the year of taking up smoking is significant I suspect it is

So true. When I started, just seeing someone smoking on TV didn't mean they were automatically the bad guy. :D Johnny Carson still smoked on TV then, and of course Ed too, and if Dean Martin happened by, he'd certainly have a smoke in his hand, and probably a martini glass in the other. :D

Of course we all knew The Cigarette Smoking Man was a really bad guy, on X-Files... had to be... he was always smoking. :D
