The property where my office is has a single smoking area that's about as far from my office as you can get plus it smells like sewage over there. Needless to say, when I was smoking analogs we would rarely go over there opting to go out in the parking lot, etc. The property manager sent numerous emails to our management about it. We were never standing near entry ways (which I despised even as a smoker). We fondly referred to the property manager as the Nicotine Nazi.
I started vaping first then got my coworker on it. We've only been vaping for about a month. I can't believe it took a month but today mgt got the email. He replied with "they aren't smoking, they're vaping". A little later (I didn't know about the email) mgt came to my cube with the Nico Nazi. He wants to see my pv. Now, I'm using a puck I made, complete with a red button, an atty for life atty. It totally looks like some kind of detonator. I took a puff for him. Instead of hearing what I expected he was not only nice about it but supportive. He's going to work on adjusting their policy to recognize vaping as something they wouldn't hassle us about. He was completely cool with me vaping inside the building. He's problem was that same ole argument, if people see you doing that they'll think it's ok to smoke. At first he said he would setup vaping areas right outside but later pretty much left it open for now. He was going to send out an email to all the tenants to let them know what we were doing, pictures of what pvs look like, etc. Then, he asked if maybe we would do a little seminar to introduce others to pvs. Turns out his dad was a 3 pad smoker.
I was quite surprised with the entire affair and wanted to share some positive news.
