i, along with several other coworkers, smoke at our desks. We are more or less isolated from the bigger corporate depts, and we don't walk around with them hanging out of our mouths or anything. Just because there's no second hand smoke doesn't mean we should shove PV's in the everybody's faces - i keep reading about people trying to smoke on airplanes, getting asked to stop, and then claiming they are legally allowed to smoke everywhere. For Pete's sake, get up and go use the bathroom - no one will know and you will be allowed to have it on the plane - common sense PEOPLE!!!! (i don't know why i just ranted, sorry)

vaping is encouraged in our office - but then again...we're an eCig company...

i have one employee who continually takes smoke breaks on our patio, and I think, "come on, G! get with the program."

It's kinda like working for Coke and taking Pepsi breaks...

HAHA, some people just need to get up once in a while.

then get up & vape! ha. ha.

it's funny since I switched to eCigs over tobacco, now when i see someone smoking analogs i feel like i'm watching someone poke themselves in the eye with a needle...

i think, "you know, you don't have to do that anymore."

but i'm not preachy so I just walk on by and hope they find their way to me...

maybe we need to start like a guardian angels type eCig movement where we walk up to people smoking and hand them a card. "Here - check this out. You'll thank me later."

but then again - that would put is in leagues with evangelists who hand out those scary comics about going to Hell...

I am a programmer so I work at a computer all day. I use a PT and vape all day long. I have received only encouragement from other employees and the vp and owner. I am also encouraging other employees who smoke to try vaping

Same here, only programming is my second (though much preferred) job. During the day I work as an IT instructor, and have an eGo USB battery that I vape all day when not teaching class (most days of the week, preparing material, new material, etc). When I first got it I showed it to my boss, he said "So, if there's no smoke you could use that in here?" Immediately took a puff, and that was that.

I work for a copier company and vape everytime i have to sit at my desk to get things done. Most days I am out in the field but after quitting the paper things, we have had a sort of movement in the company. I went from 2 packs a day to vaping only. Blu's are quite obviously not cigarettes and I even showed the owner the e-cig and took a puff right there and said... "see smells like snickerdoodle cookies" He got a big kick out of it. We now all vape anytime we want when we are at our desks. He is a non-smoker, but has never given me any flack about vaping. My counterpart has a desk right across from mine and when you walk by the IT desks, the smell of bakery is noticeable. Everyone always makes nice comments about the cookie smell from our area.

I ain't in it to quit, just to do it cheaper.

I vape all day at my desk at work. My co-workers were shocked at first until I explained what vaping is. The best is when I am vaping while sitting on the steps of St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC while waiting for my express bus to come. Most passerby's don't even notice or are un-phased by it. The few that notice take a double take.

I work in a factory that makes aerospace parts and has very stringent regulations and certifications that they adhere to. One of our 'benefits' grouped in the health insurance is a tobacco free credit of $780 off the annual cost of the insurance. That was my initial motivation to quit smoking, my insurance will basically be free.

I asked about vaping to the girls in HR...I was the first one who had ever asked. My answer was that the PV would be grouped in with the policy on chewing tobacco, not to be used in the building. I could have argued that they don't prohibit employees from wearing a patch, or chewing the nicotene gum in the building, but I just stealth vape instead. I'm just happy I can get the insurance credit, I am tobacco free, it makes no mention of nicotene.

One of my coworkers actually alerted me to the existence of PVs (I am the only one in my entire office of 30+ who smoked), so the discussion about them went around and by the time I ordered my first 510, everyone was waiting with me for it to arrive. Everyone is very supportive - and I'm suddenly getting requests for carpools! If I feel like what I'm vaping might be a little sweet or strong, I turn on my tiny desk fan. I do still occasionally get up and go outside, since smoking used to give me a good reason to tear my eyes from my computer and see the sunshine (it burns! it burns!), and I realized I don't really need smoking as a reason to stretch my legs. But the 20-year ritual of only leaving my desk to smoke has trained me.

When I decided to make the switch, I had a meeting with my boss and co-workers (I'm an engineer by the way). We did a lunch meeting and I showed them all literature about ecigs and how they work. I also told them that this was a life change for me in a positive direction. No more smoke breaks, no more smelling like an ashtray, and no more nasty smelling cigarette .... bucket outside the door. They were all very supportive and agreed to let me vape whenever I felt the need. As soon as it arrived, I showed my eGo to everyone and showed them how it worked. They were amazed! Now the guy in the cube next to me only complains because the smell of my waffle juice makes him hungry. :)

I suggest to anyone who is considering vaping or already vapes and would like to at work, to approach your co-workers and boss and explain to them what you want to do and how you're going to do it. Seek input and support. I use the same approach when I want to vape at a bar or restaurant and I haven't been turned down yet.

Is that a real cat? Looks like a stuffed toy.
