Do you guys vape at work? I do, and I'm just wondering how many of you do as well? My boss smokes so he doesn't mind, but no one else at work smokes. The only two that used to are me and one other, and we've both both switched to vaping. Would second hand vapor be an issue for my co-workers?

I usually don't flaunt it at work as it is not the place for a debate on vaping. It is not my intention generation any negative feeling towards vaping. I usually go out with the smokers maybe see if I can get a couple of converts. At the very least I will head off to a unused meeting room or stairwell for a couple of quick vapes. No matter how harmless vaping is you will always find someone to complain and quite franking I dont need another visit from human resources. If I have to take one more sensitivity training course I am going to shoot myself.

I vape all the time at work, I'm retired :). No seriously it is not an issue with me. When I vape in public it is always discreet, not like some yahoos (I don't believe I see any in this conversation) that feel the need to be in peoples faces about it. IMO that is not helping our cause one bit. Do I believe we should be allowed to vape in public? Yes. Is it an issue we can't? Not realy. We need to find acceptance, just like it took a long time for non-smokers to treat us like lepers, it will take some time in gaining accpetance.

Like LV said at the mess I go with the smokers and have convinced a couple of the alternate lifestyle. I was at the garage Tue, where I vaped while waiting for my truck. My mechanic and I had quite a conversation. I believe education is key, because what we are doing dioes appear to be smoke. That is why I believe that vaping is helping us with our addcitions where other methods have failed.

Although I'm not back at work yet I AM out in public a lot both outdoor & indoor. I also neither stealth nor flaunt vaping when I crave that hit if it can be avoided.

Saying that.... I'll usually openly vape and gauge reaction unless its a private venue that I might feel requires getting "permission" from the owner/manager (ie: a restaurant, bar, meeting place, or other private place that caters to a volume of people). If there are those that appear outright opposed, I'll either (depending on their meaner) attempt to explain what I'm doing by offering a cheerful (attempted anyway) discussion.

If even after demonstrating and offering explaination and education they are obviously ignorant of common sense or educated discussion with a holier than thou attitude (which doesn't happen all that often), I'll simply beat them into submission !! Not really, lol.... I'll actually return to "my space of choice" and either stealth it here and there if need be to avoid a screamfest, or move on to another venue of "non disturbance" and avoid a closed minded fascist.

I do think I'm at a slight advantage in these situations only because I'm NOT a little guy, and I carry a since birth look of "don't screw with me", so most won't even bother confrontation asside from the fake coughing along with looks of disgust, lol.... to which I usually chuckle to myself while casually saying under my breath..... IDIOT !! LoL...

I vape at work all day long. Lucky for me, I work in a small town in a small office with just my boss (who has now converted to vaping after smoking for 50 years). Our clients are curious to know what we are doing so my office has become the town's vaping demo office as well. Thankfully, Jack from HV provided me with his business cards that I keep on my desk to hand out to clients. They are also at the local medical centre after my doctor was so impressed I quit smoking and requested information for his patients. This is NOT the norm I am sure but for our small community, this is HUGE! My doctor assured me there is no harm to others with second hand vaping.

I drink a lot of coffee when I'm at our office = lots of bathroom breaks = lots of vaping breaks. I also sneak drags here and there when no one is looking. I tend to vape the fruit-flavoured juices because I find they smell the least and the most like candy. I haven't had anyone see me or complain...

As for vaping openly at work, I'd rather not do it.

There have been some individuals that have complained about perfumes and strong oders from food, even popcorn at my work place.

I openly laugh and point my finger at the govt employee's who suddenly claim headaches and of being nautious when painters walk through their work areas with WATER BASED PAINT to repaint a wall 100 ft away from them. And THIS from the ones who absolutely reek themselves at 50 paces from they're apparent morning body soak of perfume or cologne (ANYTHING for a paid day off I'd say).

A mind is a wonderful thing !! But an idiot is an idiot no matter how brainless they are !!

I completely agree. I this is why I dont vape in the Office, I am not trying to hide it I just dont need the grief from the few that would seek to make a huge issue out of it.
