Vaping Documentary!

Just wondering if there are any highly viewed documentaries for the US/NA?

I ask this because in Europe there was just a successful Kickstarter for "Smoke Without Fire" linked here:
Smoke without fire by SMS Ltd. — Kickstarter

I saw one from the US was supposed to be in production but on their website it says that they spend TWO YEARS shooting 400 hrs of video and they are trying to give the impression that it will take another year to sift through the footage, etc. I find this hilarious and a bit disheartening, considering something decent film could be thrown together in just a few weeks to get the point across.

Documentaries can be a great way to reach people as many of us have seen time and time again. :)

GOOD documentaries can take a considerable amount of time and effort, which is why a lot never get finished, or even started - they don't make much money, compared to other films. Sad, really.

Be glad they're taking their time - with a topic like this, they need to be factual, do their research, and do it right, even if it takes longer. You might think you can just throw something like this together, but the reality is, it's a LOT of work - just sifting through footage alone is a massive task. I know enough indie film people to know how much work it all really is.

You don't really need 400 hours of footage to make a compelling pro vaping documentary. I've seen some compelling films that were put together rapidly. They seem to be dragging their feet also.

I don't think that and I have a pretty good idea of what goes into the process, which is why I am somewhat disappointed. Granted they might be doing a fine job and all.

Perhaps we could discuss some ideas as to what could go into a concise, compelling documentary.

BTW, I'm not picking on those particular filmmakers, I'm just kind of disappointed that I haven't seen anything really compelling yet, but admittedly I haven't really looked that hard, which is why I'm here.

Actually I googled and got this. I am a filmmaker from Upstate NY, and I am thinking after all of what is going on right now, making one. I don't know how I would completely fund it at this point, but with pro audio and video capabilities, I might try and go through crowd-funding to try and get it off the ground. Pretty much my reason for posting now, is what do you guys on this thread think?
