I've been giving presentations here and there about a software project I'm working on. Usually a day or two of lecture and hands on work. I vape all day during these things, at the podium, during sessions, break times. So I discovered the first thing I need to do is explain to everyone what an e-cig is. I start the presentation with it. :) otherwise I get questioned all day long individually. I feel like Carrie Fisher.

Why would you feel the need to vape during a professional presentation?

You know best.

But be aware that many times people do not comment on things they observe.

Personally, I would not want to be perceived as someone who cannot get through a presentation without taking a hit off an e-Cigarette.

I agree with you to a degree, I will say though, Vaping is a relatively new concept and is uncharted territory for 'outsiders'.

I think, depending on what your working relationship is like with your team mates and higher ups (by relaxed do you mean everyone goes to work in shorts and tshirts?) then at your own discretion, go ahead...

The second factor is ... How good are you at your job ? you could be the biggest meanie on the planet but if you are irreplaceable then they'll probably give you a slap on the wrist and a 'Don't do it again'.
But* if your statistics are plummeting then it's bye bye lol

Hopefully you do go to work in shorts and a tshirt :) in which case, excellent opportunity to convert the masses (or as I call it 'Save Lives' lol I have saved 8, working on number 9 and 10 already :) )

Yeah it's definitely a shorts and t-shirt atmosphere. I teach video production, editing, software, and language transcription/translation procedures to Native American groups working on language revitalization. We do a lot of work and they learn a lot in 3-4 days but it is also fun and laid back. Very different culture than a business setting.

oh and.. I am the "higher-up." :)
