Smoked a pack a day for 50 years.

I played around with cigalikes and patches and gum for the last 5 years cutting down a little, quitting for a while, then relapsing. Then I got an Ego and cut down to 4 or 5 a day. Did that for a few months. Then I started reading on ECF and picked up a spinner and a couple of ProTanks and ordered some decent juice. That got me down to a couple a day. Then I picked up a Sig 20, and got down to zero.

I had the last cig in the pack for about a week. Decided to smoke it because I couldn't bring myself to throw it away. I went out on the deck and lit it up, only got through 3 or 4 drags and had to dump it.

I had one dodgy moment a few weeks later when I found a cig under the seat of my truck but managed to resist. Found half a pack in the garage a few months after that and didn't give it a second thought.

The thread title mentioned the first few days. I remember being off work for a few days, or maybe it was a weekend. I was on ECF reading pretty much full time for the first few days, or a week. It helped being on the forum, otherwise I would have thinking about cigarettes all the time. Threads like this were really helpful.
