So after about 25 years of smoking and 2 months with my ecig, here are my thoughts/observations. Your results may vary.

  • I've said goodbye to cigarettes, with confidence this time! Granted, I've replaced them with something else. But after smoking for 25 years and having tried everything to quit, for something to have actually worked is a miracle!

  • My smoker's cough is gone. I still cough once in a while from slight throat irritation, but it's nowhere near the frequency (or severity) of before.

  • I haven't gained any weight!!! Great, considering I'm still carrying around an extra 10 pounds or so from the last time I was on the patch.

  • I've grown to love the ritual, which was something always missing from other stop-smoking aids. I'm a very habitual person, so this is likely the biggest key to success for me.

  • The only time I miss smoking is first thing in the morning. The e-cigarette just doesn't deliver that "good morning" wallop like the smokes do. Then again, I don't need to go out to the garage in my bath robe & slippers like before.

  • I pick up my ecig more throughout the day, but puff on it less than I would a real cigarette. I've paid close attention to how many cartridges I'm going through, and I'm happy to say I'm still at the equivalent of a pack a day. I can live with that for now!

  • The "tobacco" flavored cartridges, although my favorite, could be more accurately described as "pepper" flavored. The "menthol" ones taste like minty chewing gum. Bleck! I'll stick with pepper flavor.

  • Now that I'm no longer surrounded by a smoky odor, I'm noticing a lot of odd smells everywhere. Has anyone seen the episode of Spongebob Squarepants where Patrick gets a nose and is suddenly repulsed by how bad everything smells? It's kinda like that!

  • In general, for me, vaping is the perfect replacement for smoking and I'm going to keep doing it.

Hi caffeine and welcome! You could try upping your nicotine for your morning vape and then go to a lower dose through the rest of the day. You also might try different juice from other vendors as no two taste the same. And yes, I have always had a very keen sense of smell for stinky things and just about gagged for the first month after not smoking. I am finally adjusting to these smells but it is still not pleasant. :)

Welcome! This is an amazing thing we have here, I Sid think it was possible for me to quit, I had tried so many ti es without success that in had actually given up on trying. But I was going to try one more time, and sure enough on day two I was ready to smoke, and I remembered that weird little cigeratte looking thing my wife's yoga teacher had talked her into buying, asked if I could use it, and the most amazing thing happened! I didn't want to smoke anymore! Welcome, and good luck on this vaping journey.

Good to see your post Caffeine! I smoked 25 years & am about 3 weeks into vaping & 4 days without an analog & doing well. Very exciting! I'm coughing much less, though I expect that may change as my lungs detoxify? I like a variety of juices rather than any set juices, enjoying exploring the options, using a fluxomizer with kr8- Just need the nicotine to be 24-36mg. I'm hearing that I'm singing & laughing more deeply, that's fun! My sense of smell is going a little crazy right now. I don't think I've gained weight, but I do find that when I'm hungry, I'm really really hungry- I hope that doesn't continue!
Amazing, this vaping is! :)
