Hey guys and gals, this is kind of a "what are the reasons (other than health) did you start vaping for?", thread. There are probably 1,000's of reasons if you really get down the nitty-fritty, but I'm really fishing for those responses that YOU started vaping for, maybe they will make everyone else go, "yeah, never thought of that."

My motivation *edit* my girlfriend was taken down, so this girl is hot enough(don't tell her I said that ;-), (Ladies, yours too):

(darnit the guys pic is bigger :glare:

Unfortunately since I'm a young bachelor (just turned 23 on the 18th), I really didn't quit with my health fully in mind (Even though smoking is terrible for your health, I was probably one of the most healthy smokers in the world with confidence, because I physically stay able to run 5 miles or lift my body-weight at minimum, and I really concentrate on my diet, I wouldn't say I'm near vegetarian but I have a very "Asian" diet if that makes sense, with alot of fruits thrown in ther) . It was more to make sure I wasn't truly addicted, so I guess it was more for my mental health; to make sure I still had my self-control, and that cigarettes (or nicotine; down to 12mg!) didn't have control over my personal integrity. That and I was tired of hiding the admittedly nasty habit from my girlfriends, now I wasn't literally "hiding" it, as I'm upfront and honest with any girl I'm interested in, but I'd still chew gum right after a cigarette so they aren't kissing an ash-tray, and I'd basically smoke only when they weren't directly in front of me, or even when they wouldn't know about it. It just felt dishonorable, and especially sneaky. Of course none of them ever liked it (for good reason), and they'd often be on my back about quitting (for good reason), it's definitely a huge turn-off and that is DEFINITELY a con to me personally.

SO! After I finally met a girl that I really don't want to lose, it was time to quit or find a more girlfriend-friendly habit, and what seemed most interesting to me was vaping! Surprisingly my girlfriend felt the same way! When I first started we were laying in bed watching T.V., and I pulled it out (the atomizer guys) and started using it. She was immediately perplexed watching me blow smoke circles with it and asked what it was, and I explained how I'm not smoking anymore using this, she then got happy and excited, so much that she started kissing me and she said "Wow! you taste like strawberries!" (I had been vaping a strawberries and cream e-juice), and I could tell she like the change because she kept on kissing me more intimately, and then she...well let's just say she REALLY liked the change of me not tasting like a cigarette, that was my reward I guess, so vaping was DEFINITELY here to stay. I could tell that she was much more attracted to me, and that's pretty much priceless.

So that's honestly my main motivation for quitting is those around me, not really my own health, and having a bigger bank account let's me spoil her more too! Now that I'm not wasting 11-22$ per day it's made life alot easier, plus I don't have to step outside every half an hour, leaving more time to spend with her, or whoever is important to me. Yeah it's kinda sad that I didn't hold my own health more important, but what can I say, that's the kinda guy I am, plus I haven't been out of breath, or felt unhealthy since high-school so I wasn't really concerned with my own health, it was to better my relationships, and be more attractive (yeah I know it's vain but true, ask any women on earth, and I bet 99.9999% of them will prefer a guy who doesn't smoke, and that goes for men as well).

~So that's my "why I started vaping" reason, and again I know there's 1,000's of obvious ones, but I'd love to hear every friend on ECF's honest and most important reasons for vaping. Thanks for you responses ladies and gentleman! Vape on! :vapor:

The rubber band is mine. The other "stuff" is my wife's.

I'm single so that "whole" package is why I quit......no actually I was not recovering from walking pneumonia and could not breath was the first reason ....not even a cold since I quit 6 months ago:D

To get my husband off my case. I really wasn't planning on quitting, but that is what happened.

I respect your honesty hehe, my situation was similar, but again it was more to assure I wasn't owned by the cigs and I wanted to be more "desirable". Vanity is something I need to work on.

To be more physically ready ( military ), because my girlfriend was always on my .... to stop smoking, and cut back on spending as much money.

Also, hopefully for my future family :vapor:

Hoorah! Right on brother, I had the thought to join the marines before I went to college, I was really close doing it, and I started abusing myself before-hand to prepare. I got into monstrous shape, I got to the point where I could do what the requirements were plus the horror-stories I've heard. It's a tough job, I think the part I'd hate most though is just getting up early lol, I run 3-5 miles every other morning but not at 5:30am. I've seen alot of soldiers on base vaping lately, it used to be Marlboro's everywhere.

I love life , hell I love my life so I decided that I should stretch it out as long as I can .

There you go, for some reason (I think it's because I obsess over my diet and shape I'm in) I wasn't worried about my health too much other than the obvious cancer chemicals in cigarettes, other than that I felt great. That and I usually only smoked 1/4th a pack per day which wasn't TERRIBLE (pretty bad still) considering your lungs can clean 3-4 cigs per day, interesting fact I learned in Med-school.

$ and health. It's helped with both. But it is nice kissing a chick and her surprise and delight when she loves how my mouth tastes!

Best part to me! She's been alot more...friendly than she used to :p. Lowering your own nicotine increases your libido too, fun fact lol.

Sigh. No men, dogs, other cute critters with PVs?

Not in his hand but in his mouth..he was licking the sweetness off of the drip tip of my first PV. :D

I started vaping for my health and because the price of cigarettes...but so far I have yet to save any money maybe once I get all the devices I want I will quit buying, and then it will just be limited to purchasing only juice each month or when I find a yummy juice I want to try!
